Why do I rate Headspace one star: not for the product; I really enjoyed Headspace for almost 3 years, was meditating daily. But I do rate this app for its cunning and misleading team behind it. After all these years paying monthly €13, which is quite a lot, I finally wanted to change it to yearly subscription of €58/year. First of all, it's annoying and strange that you cannot manage your own account settings and change your subscription manually: you need to seek help through the helpdesk. Then I did that, I asked to change my account, and this has been 2 months ago, I have been emailing with 3 different employees. Everybody promised to change my account, to help me out, to even offer me a discount code - and nothing works. Everytime I tried to log in and change it with their instructions, I got an error on the website. They leave you to your own fate and won't help you. For me, this is absolutely passing the line of ethical behaviour. At first I thought it was just a mistake, but now I realize it's a pattern of not wanting to help you and just taking as much money from you as possible. Don't take Headspace. You're spilling your money. Get another (free) meditation app.

Do not subscribe. I thought I had cancelled a year ago and then tried again this week as it seemed not to have happened. I tried again and had an email back confirming my request had been received to stop automatic renewal. I assumed all done but just thought I would email to check.... and it hadn’t been stopped. The email is deliberately misleading and implies cleverly that it has stopped but they continue taking payment. Please tell your friends not to subscribe. What a complete and utter con.

The app was very limited in what it offered. The 7 day free trial was not actually 7 days. If you don't cancel on day 6 they take your money. Very stressful indeed getting it back - certainly wiped out any benefits the app may have had!!. Subsequently read an article on them, very interesting in the Independent on how stressful Headspace is. (Trust Pilot doesn't allow links but you can google it.

Avoid this app why would you pay for something that doesn’t exist? It’s unethical and disgusting, I really just want headspace to have full access to everything for the free trial they use to offer the focus meditation too but they blocked it because they wanted to make lots of money, £50 for a year is a complete joke. Focusing on breath shouldn’t be a business/corporate strategy for Andy to make money under the table

Automatic Renewal £74.99, have tried to cancel but am told I can not. Not best practise, very unhappy about this.

I appreciate the thought to give people a free trial for a year when they are unemployed. It should be the same for those that employed. I'm at work day in amd day out and would love to be stress free. Those who are working are also equally stressed and shouldnt be excluded.
