Hale Pet DoorReviews of halepetdoor.com

Overall, I am very satisfied with Hale Pet Door. The product arrived promptly, was well packaged and easy to install. I had no difficulty navigating their website and found exactly the size of dog door I was looking for. Prices were higher than I wanted to pay, but certainly well within reason for made in the USA, and excellent quality. As for the product itself: Well constructed, and the installation directions are clear. About the only thing I can complain about is the security door not sealing up as flush to the opening as I'd like. (Maybe if it had some sort of fabric on the outside that would help seal it up?) However, this isn't a huge deal, because the flaps and magnetic holders do a decent job of keeping the wind and cold out. All told, I would still buy another one of these products if I needed a second one.

looks good and seems durable. I think you should have a video of the step by step direction that can be viewed. would make easier.

We were very satisfied with the replacement door flaps that I ordered. The only problem was that the flaps were not labeled, and apparently needed to go one on the outside and one on the inside. My husband finally noticed where the magnets needed to match up, but a label on the flaps would have saved him some time.

Excellent experience! I've had several Hale doors and all have worked great. I used the website for a replacement part on a non-Hale door and unfortunately the part didn't fit. The measurements I had were correct and I matched to the part I wanted. Unfortunately the slider I ordered was larger than needed. In short, I would call to make sure what you measure and see in the site match up. I called and Hale made a custom slider and it fit perfect.

Love, love, love this door. I've had it for 15 years and have just replaced the flap. The door sees quite a bit of traffic so I was so pleased that it has held up well over the years. I had to order a custom size to fit a pane on a french door. Customer Service is excellent and it was very easy to order. When the replacement flap arrived, though, it was longer than it should have been which was a disappointment since I was measuring the actual flap to be replaced. Additionally, the installation is SO MUCH harder than it needs to be. In the end, I had to hire a handyman to install it and it took him over an hour! The product is excellent, the installation process needs attention. Had it been easier to install I would have given 5 stars.

Helpful assistance by phone. Timely delivery of replacement flaps. Pleased that our information is on account to expedite the process. Appreciate no charge for shipping especially since we didnt expect to need replacement flaps again. We used the warranty for the first set so had to pay full price this time. We have heavy duty double flaps and replaced them just over a year ago.

I think that the Hale Pet door is as advertised. Some suggestions. In the directions you should make it very clear which particular door is exterior and which door is interior. I also think that you should re examine the directions for installing the rug after the doors are screwed in place. It is not realistic to put glue on the rug and then somehow open up the flap and slide the glue covered rug into place without smearing glue all over the plastic flap doors. I found this to be true with the small wall door and think that it would have been much easier to glue the rug in place first before screwing on the doors but the screws you provide would not be long enough and it might be hard to find the pilot holes. Anyway it is near impossible to put the rug in with glue on the small wall set up without getting a lot of glue on the window flaps which then takes a great deal of effort to clean off.

Had to get replacement doors for existing unit we had installed for previous dog as we took in a rescue dog. Shipping was fast and instillation was somewhat easy (not totally simple, but given the design and that this was a retrofit I am not sure how this could have been easier.). Part of the order did not ship in error, but that was rectified quickly and with little hassle.
