I had a leaking roof. Gerry had his guy Tyler work on it. Tyler sent his guy to coat it to fix the leak. It kept leaking. He said his guy didn't put enough on. I felt bad saying it's leaking more every time it rained and that the stains were increasing. I took pictures. Gerry said if the ceiling doesn't feel wet don't worry, over and over. It was like I was being gas lite. I see the water stains. This went on and one and worsening. Then Tyler put more but walked on the roof in a rush on my mobile home flat roof and water came through the kitchen. Tyler got in his car and left saying call Gerry. Habitat said we can't do anything more but agreed to paint the stains and referred me to their home repair program. Tyler got paid a lot each time to try and paint more miralax on. He was out at least 7 times. Seems to be a waste of funding. I wonder how much he got paid. The caseworker at home repair program was kind of a no nonsense person who said don't worry most of the people didn't even complete their paperwork. She worked out of phila. So I could pop over to the warminster office for help. She always answered her phone but was never at her desk. I'm out in the field with noise in background but I think you just needed xyz. I apologize. She would say one thing then say no that's not what I said. I could switch caseworkers because I could get Andrea on the phone. I even wrote to her. Once you are in you are in and congratulated me for being one of the first ones to complete the paperwork. Long story short she was always in the field and apologizing for giving the wrong info. I stayed calm and did a lot of redo's. Only to find out she never had my application. No one would let me speak to andrea the . supervisor. Then habitat and said sign this paper saying that we might not be able to help you. We are nearing end. I asked a female county rep to help as I am had been working on this for years and recovering from a massive stroke. She did not. It was very stressful. Moral of the story don't let anyone work on your roof if it's leaking and they are not a roofer. And don't let them pawn you off to stalk to protect the guy who walked on in and destroyed it. That's what his insurance is for I suppose. the home repair program needs to fix the paperwork submission if that many people are struggling. I was a case worker and I would never not care and laugh at people who were not able to get their goals met. Andrea didn't seem to care at all either. They need caring professionals not the enjoyment of watching people struggle. The reason I didn't give zero stars is because I do appreciate help with the other things habit did. They were offered but I really needed a roof repair. I recently learned don't cost your roof if it's leaking and just throw more on. The reason being is the coating is not waterproof. Put that in a working roof. Gerry didn't know that and wanted to protect Tyler from Global. Tyler said he was busy many times working on Gerry's house. So there's just a lot going on that could be improved. If you mess up don't leave the person down and out. Gerry said we paid enough money on you. I said I only want a roof. You offered the others a saying you had to use uo the money. I could have lost my home because eventually the light was so wet I had to tape it and I was ready to move. The date won't allow be to go back a few years . Kathy at habitat did amazing at her job. I don't know if she had anything to do with the way I was treated. I hope not.

Specific to donating a car to Habitat for Humanity - While the web portion was simple, the rest has been very challenging. Many hand-offs between the remarketing company who handles this for HfH and Pull-A-Part who is the buyer and their dispatch. I'm at day 6 and the car's not been picked up yet and each phone call results in several disjointed hand-offs and - so far - no resulution. Disappointing. All of my other interaction with the charity, including working on builds, has been exceptional.
