Guardian Protection Products (“Guardian”) is a terrible company that sold me a terrible plan. I bought a plan from them in November 2023 when I bought at new couch at Rooms To Go (“RTG). The RTG salesman praised the plan and gave me a fancy brochure describing the plan. One of the principal reasons I bought my couch at RTG was the Guardian plan. On the last page of the plan’s brochure, in very small print, is a disclosure that the plan coverage is subject to all of the terms of the “full service contract.” That contract is solely online and thus was NOT offered to me by the RTG salesman. The salesman didn’t even warn me that the full service contract is full of exceptions, exclusions, and limitations not even hinted at in the brochure. I would be shocked if any RTG customer has pulled up the online full service contract and read it at RTG before making a purchase. Last month, there arose an accidental tear in my couch, and I proceeded to quickly file a claim with Guardian. They jerked me around for several weeks, claiming they could not find me in their system even though RTG adamantly told me that it had sent all of my information to Guardian. Eventually, I was able to have my claim processed. Shortly thereafter, Guardian sent to me an email denying my claim because the plan covers “rips” but not “tears.” The Merriam Webster dictionary defines “rip” as a “tear” -- i.e., the nouns mean the same thing! The email also said the denial was a “final determination” and my claim “cannot be changed or altered.” After reading the highly negative reviews of Guardian on the Consumer Affairs website (where Guardian has a 1.6 stars rating!!), I decided to turn to warning future Guardian customers that the company is a SCAM!

This is by far the biggest scam that is being run against the consumer. I have been sold their insurance plan on many pieces of furniture that I have purchased through Bob's Furniture. Each time a claim is put in, the company finds a reason to not proceed. The employees of this company seem to be incentivized to not support their customers and are rewarded for this effort. I had an incident where the company did deem the fault to be supported by the plan in which the frame of my sofa was damaged. The technician came to do a "temporary fix." but stated that the permanent fix would require a full replacement or rebuilding of the frame. I reached back out when the failure resurfaced as expected per the technician's note and the company is not honoring to complete the full fix. Please note, that getting them to come out for the fix upon first notice took over 6 months, including over 15 hours of phone conversation/wait, and 20 email exchanges. To this day, no resolution to further support has been granted. As consumers we have the right to be protected and the practices of Guardian Protection Products (GPP) are quite deceptive to the American consumer. This is my formal complaint about the company and hope some serious action is taken on them.

I purchased a Total protection plan from Guardian at Ashley Furniture and now when i reported the frame in the couch I got a refusal because it must be accidental and within 30 days, WHAT?. How can a failure of the frame be accidental, it breaks or warps over time. They denied saying the damage happened more than 30 days ago, no it’s been breaking for some time but recently became very noticeable. I think that many purchasers of this plan got duped into thinking they will be taken care of when something fails during the 5 years period. I paid $299.00 for absolutely NOTHING. To the people reading my and other 44% of the ONE STAR ratings, save your money and don't buy this protection, it's a sham.

I purchased a 8 piece Leather Sectional with 4 motion recliners in May 31, 2022 spending close to $5000, I was convinced by the sales Rep to purchase the Guardian Protection Plan that would not expire until May 31,2027 and it would cover me for any accidents and any Mechanical issues that should go wrong for 5 years. On Jan 2, 2024 I submit a Claim informing Guardian that I reclined one of the seats to watch TV and it would not come back up they told me to send a picture and my receipt of my purchase and the warranty docs.. I sent the information requested on Jan 6 and now I get a email Jan 11 stating "The damages reported is not eligible for coverage under your protection plan. The plan you purchase from the retailor does not cover your furniture for: A variety of stains and damages." I don't have stains or damages to my couches its only the mechanical issues they never even came out to see if they could fix the issue. ...so I called the store to talk the Manager he was not trying to hear what I was trying to explain to him he just kept telling me to file an appeal because my couches were covered for mechanical/motion failure and for any accidents. They don't tell you how difficult it is to have your merchandise covered under warranty when something goes wrong they just want you to pay $400 for a warranty. I feel the information you are being provided to pay the warranty is false statements by the Reps their just trying to get you to purchase the warranty this is so disappointing to spend so much money on furniture and warranty and to have a company not stand up for you. I have been trying to call the warranty to file an appeal I have been on hold for two hours I just finally hung up, its a shame that I have to look at a practically brand new furniture that I cant get the recliner to go down without perhaps breaking it to get it to go down, or just taking it out and wasting my money. I have made many purchases with BOB's and this is very disappointing to me. Guardian Protection does not stand by their contract they have with the customers. Sincerely, Very Disappointed Customer

No compren seguros con ellos. Todo lo resuelven con uso normal para no arreglarte los muebles. Pèsimo servicio. Do not waste your money.

Awful, won’t cover anything. My chair frame broke and they said it was from normal use which is not true. It’s a waste of money don’t bother they will deny anything to not uphold there end of the contract

I have a costly recliner and the USB ports went off. Tried to claim to repair it multiple times, but it gets rejected every time. No option/category to clearly define the issue in the first place. No call or discussion or any effort to understand the issue from their side. what a waste of time and money. its a total scam.
