I was confused in thinking this was the fee for online renewal for my passport and will now have to pay twice.
Response from GovswiftSep 18, 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback Cheryl. We’re sorry to hear you had confusion with the payment instructions. While our service fee can be paid by credit card online, the government passport fees are separate and must be paid directly to the government by check or money order. We strive to make these instructions as clear and straightforward as possible, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve. If you have any remaining questions or need further assistance, reach out to our team, we're available to help.

Totally misleading on purpose
Totally misleading on purpose! This is predatory and should not be allowed. I was charged $150.95 for something that is totally free on the government's website. DO NOT fall for this. I want a full refund for something that is already free. When I do a google search and this site pops up, they try to look like the actual government site that is free. I don't need your company's help to fill out a free form. It is concerning because you give personal information on this form (which poses as the actual government form) and you think you are paying for the actual fee to get a passport. That will cost an additional $165 ($130 plus $35). It is disappointing that a company does this on purpose to take adavantage of people.
Update: After talking with someone at GovSwift, they offered me 40% of my money back. I told them that was not going to cut it. They then offered me 70% off which I accepted. I am still out $45.

I am filing this complaint against…
I am filing this complaint against GovSwift to request a full refund of $136.24, which was charged to me under deceptive circumstances. When attempting to renew my U.S. passport online, I was directed to GovSwift’s website. Their landing page, design, and layout are structured in a highly confusing and deceitful manner, closely mimicking an official government portal. Because of this lack of clear transparency, I genuinely believed I was using the official government website to renew my passport. GovSwift charged me $136.24, yet they provided no legitimate service, assistance, or value. They did not process a passport for me, and I ultimately had to complete my renewal on the actual official government website (travel.state.gov), which took me only 10 minutes. Charging this exorbitant fee for free government forms by utilizing misleading web design exploits consumers who are simply trying to navigate official government business. They took my money without providing any meaningful service. I am requesting a prompt, full refund of $136.24.

If you go to the Post office and set an…
If you go to the Post office and set an appointment they will help you with filling out all of the paperwork they'll even take your picture and some locations. It is also $130 to do it that way. I did not realize that this was a third party because I was too busy listening to what the operator told me to do online to get my passport renewed. They also charged me $157. ? If I would have went through the post office it would have only been on $130. It's too expensive these days to be paying someone $157 for paperwork that you filled out on your own and could have very easily done on your own so now my passport has costed me $290.00. it should have only costed me $130 to get my passport renewed. They do answer emails quickly they're always on the phone and answer but I wish somebody would have told me ahead of time. So if you're looking for someone to answer the phone and your emails quite quickly it may be worth it to you to pay $157 but it's not to me. the process takes more than 60 days so if you're out past 60 days and ask for a refund they tell you no.

Scam site
Scam site. They mislead you. DON’T DO IT. They make it seem like they’re helping but. Garage you $130 to fill out forms that the post office will help you do for free and only takes 10 minutes.

A COMPLETE SCAM that won’t refund your money
As many have written, this site is a complete scam! You pay them $150 for a child passport but THAT IS ONLY TO THEM (not the actual fee for the passport). You then still have pay the government $100 and the post office $35. They literally charge $150 to email you a form that’s free on the government website. I called immediately after as I realized this was a scam and they would not provide a full refund! I then spent over 20 minutes on the phone asking repeatedly for a refund. They started at 50%. Then 70%. Then 80 and finally 90. I had to work really hard to get that amount back. So upsetting- a terrible “business” that preys on people.

$ does not go to passport
Be careful, this looks like a gov't website but all they do is fill out forms. The money they charge does not go to the passport. I emailed them moments after I received a confirmation from them and they offered me 25% back. I emailed again to ask for a full refund and they offered me 50%. It took writing a bad review and multiple emails to get them to give my money back. If you need help filling out forms, then maybe this works for you. But, I am capable of filling out free forms.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. To clarify, we are a private, third party service that assists customers in preparing their passport applications accurately and efficiently. Our service includes guided support, completed application forms, and helpful resources designed to help prevent common errors that can lead to delays or issues with processing. The government fee paid separately to the U.S. Department of State is required regardless of how the application is prepared, and this is also noted on our website. While some customers choose to complete the process on their own, others prefer added guidance and support to ensure everything is completed correctly the first time, especially when timing is important. We also clearly state on our website, before any information is entered, that we are not affiliated with the government. We are glad we were able to process your refund and appreciate your feedback.
