This is a 3rd party service not a government website
Like all others here, got caught out by not going to the government website but one that looked like it as it topped the Google search list.
Don't blame these guys only, blame the US government for allowing this service to occur and allowing a $ sponsored website to precede the government website for the word 'ESTA.
Not a scam - just immoral.

Strongly suspect they are not legit
Strongly suspect they are not legit. Advertise 24/7 support but no way to contact them than via email to which they do not respond. I am concerned at having applied through them and wish to withdraw from process. I got caught out by the Google link placing them on top of the search engine! Classic.

They charge people 80+ dollars to apply for an ESTA on their behalf, and if you call it out as a scam they remove your review from this website - bad system Trustpilot! This is a total waste of money, go directly to esta.cbp.dhs.gov to get your visa and do not give these people one cent of your money.

Shady about (most likely extreme) prices...
The site makes it clear with popups that it is not a government site in several spots. That's good. But they don't give any price information until you fill in all your private information. They give because it depends on your country, but that's not true. ESTAs are the same price for everyone who can apply.

This website is not the official ESTA application site, it’s a middle man that will charge 5 times the price of the ESTA application on top of the ESTA fee. Don’t use it, don’t get ripped off, save your money instead.

BEWARE!!!! DO NOT FALL FOR THIS TRAP!
I had a truly horrible experience with this company, five days before my trip to the US, which put an extra amount of stress to my already stressful trip.
Realizing I needed an ESTA before leaving Germany only 5 days before traveling, I googled ESTA and unknowingly assumed that the first result (which was this site) would be a legit site where you can simply apply for your ESTA through the official government site. Also as a foreigner, I was naturally not aware that any official US site should have ".gov" in it. Clicking into the site, it looks very formal, it definitely wants to give the impression of being official and formal, and in after hand it seems pretty clear that their strategy is to rip off foreigners by luring them in with an official-looking site and then charging them €90 for something that should cost 21 dollars. I filled in the form and sent it, being stressed to get my ESTA approved asap, and suddenly I saw that €90 had been charged to my account, which increased the stress and the feeling that I had been scammed. I contacted their customer service IMMEDIATELY, demanding my money back as I don't want to use their service since I feel very ripped off, but got a reply saying that it is not possible as their agents are now processing my application. After quite a few emails back and forth, in which their Customer Service first tried to "generously" give me a 50% discount, and then a 75% discount, I consistently said I didn't want their services, I just wanted to apply for and get my ESTA approved asap. Finally, they agreed to pay me my money back, minus a "processing fee" of 15 dollars, which I took to mean that they would still send my application for this so-called processing fee. After not hearing from them for 2 days (as it seems normally it usually takes about 24 hrs), I started to get nervous about my application, so I checked the status on the official government website, where it says my application can not be found. Even more stressed and anxious, I contact their customer service again, asking them to urgently let me know if they sent my application or not. No reply, so I also write to the person from Customer Service to get all of my money back, asking them to urgently let me know if they sent my application or not, as I cannot find any information whether you can send another application if one is already being processed, just to be safe. No reply after about 16 hours (meaning this is not a time difference issue), so I send yet another email to ask if they can simply just answer if they sent my application or not. After about 1,5 days I got a reply, which is way too late anyway and I had to take a chance and send a new application through the government website, as I was getting extremely stressed that I would not be allowed on the plane without the ESTA. The person from customer service finally replied, saying that they had not sent any application.
To summarize this horrible story, I essentially got scammed into paying 15 dollars for a service I did not even get in the end, and getting a huge amount of pre-travel stress on top of that.
This company already took down my first review, and I'm sure they will try and get this one taken down too, but don't you worry, I will keep posting a new review if you get it taken down, so people get to know about your working methods and hopefully I can save someone else from making the same mistake I did!

EDIT: Once again they flagged my review as defamatory to try and get it taken down, but no worries, I will rewrite it and make sure it stays here so people see it! ;) Also, I was on vacation (in the US ;)) on the dates you mention, and understandably I did not want to deal anymore with your horrible company. Perhaps you can understand that?
