I booked the gorilla tracking activity with the Gorilla Safari Company in September and the service that was delivered was excellent. I was based in Kigali (Rwanda), but the gorilla safari was in Bwindi Park in Uganda. Booking process was extremely efficient, all was handled via e-mails and both Donna and Amanda were quick to respond and provided a lot of useful advise and information from the very beginning. I actually had some problems with getting my East Africa visa and both ladies helped me to a lot to get through this process, including daily follow up with the resepctive embassy! The experience itself was amazing, and by doing this with Gorilla Safari Company you really just sit tight and enjoy - they take care of all arrangements and there is absolutely nothing you have to worry about. Well, maybe just a little training before the trek itself as it is rather challenging ;) The hotels that were picked for me were great with very friendly staff and amazing food offering. The drivers (airport transfer and gorilla safari) provided a lot of insights about the culture and traditions of both visited countries and we had very nice conversations during the trips - I personally always appreciate such "bonus" insights into local life of the new places I travel to. All in all this has been an amazing trip and I will surely recomend Gorilla Safari Company to anybody who is interesting in tracking gorillas!

Out trip to Africa was wonderful! I can't thank Donna enough for all the planning she put into our trip. We visited four countries with ease. People meet us at each airport and help us to get to our destination. Our trip included a safari in Tanzania that was wonderful. We loved the lodges and tented camp. Our guide was knowledgeable and went out of his way to be sure we saw everything. We even had a lion roar through our camp at night. Uganda was amazing with the rainforest as a back drop. The people were warm and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay at Mahogany Springs Lodge. The highlight of our trip was the gorillas trek but the Batwa experience was a wonderful hike. We learned so much about the Batwa pigmies and their plight. I will continue to use Donna and Gorilla Safari in the future.

Donna pulled out all the stops to get our trip sorted. Everything ran like clockwork. The hotel was lovely - great service, good food and a nice location. One we will never forget - in a good way!

As a young American women traveling alone in Africa I always felt very safe & taken care of while I traveled with The Gorilla Safari Company. Everyone that assisted me in planning my trip as well as those who helped me once I was in Africa were very kind & always willing to help. My trip was absolutely a dream come true & I was truly saddened to leave.

I would absolutely travel with The Gorilla Safari Company again. First class treatment in beautiful lodges. And the gorillas! Wow!

I am still talking about the wonderful time I had in Uganda and Rwanda, I would do it all over again... Donna at The Gorilla Safari Company was so incredibly helpful; answering all my questions and putting my mind at ease about the 12-day safari she planned for me. Travelling as a single woman in your eighties can be daunting, but I enjoyed every single minute of my trip, well apart from one very bumpy road!! I would never have been able to make it though without the help and friendship of our guides and those who ran the lodges where we stayed as well as Donna's meticulous planning. The Gorilla trek in Uganda was probably the best experience of my life and was made possible by hiring a sedan chair and porters to carry me through the forest. As we got close to the gorillas though, I was able to walk with the help of two porters .... and then we saw the gorillas! First, there were two babies climbing over their mother as she reached up to pick leaves for breakfast. Then another came in and sat right next to them. That would have been worth the trip right there but we moved to another spot to watch two big male gorillas. One of them got bored and turned over onto his back, holding his gigantic hands over his chest, and fell asleep. Click, click went all the cameras. Then, at another spot nearby there were more gorillas and the prize everyone wanted to see: a huge silverback male. I stopped counting after that and my knees turned to jelly after standing for so long. All in all, we saw fourteen gorillas in the one hour allotted to us. All of this in the wild and they didn't notice us at all, sometimes as close as five feet. This really was the trip of a lifetime!

My organisation bought 2 Gorilla Safari trips as auction prizes for our partners at a gala dinner, so while I have not been on the trip myself, I can certainly recommend the customer service for GSC. The team at the Gorilla Safari Company have been a pleasure to work with and have been extremely helpful during the organisation process of the trip. They are friendly, flexible and knowledgeable, and are quick to respond to any queries. We will be using GSC again this year for auction prizes at our annual gala ball. I hope that one day I can go on a Gorilla Safari myself - it sounds incredible!
