High Staff turnovers and no real accounting knowledge
There is no way this company has this many good reviews. They are most likely paying others to help keep their reviews score high because of the way this company operates. Here is my story below: Do not let the low price persuade you to hire this company for historical bookkeeping or tax work. What appeared to be an affordable $600 engagement has turned into a financial and accounting nightmare that may cost me tens of thousands of dollars in back taxes, corrections, and professional cleanup. This is a foreign-based company that advertises a U.S. team or U.S. presence. However, I was not assigned to its U.S. team. My work was given to a team based in India, and the significant time-zone difference made communication and resolving problems extremely difficult. Potential clients should understand which team will actually perform their work before signing up. When I first hired them, I saw negative reviews from other clients describing long delays, bookkeeping mistakes, and tax problems. I hoped my experience would be different because I am an accountant myself and understand accounting theory and the bookkeeping process. Unfortunately, I am now experiencing many of the same problems those reviewers warned about. I was told that my historical bookkeeping would be completed in approximately 10 days. Nearly four years later, they still had not caught up my books. The longer the work dragged on, the further behind I became with later bookkeeping and tax years. The constant staff turnover made everything worse. During the time I worked with this company, more than 20 different people handled my books. Each new person seemed to know very little about what the previous person had done, what had already been discussed, or how my books were supposed to be handled. I repeatedly had to explain the same information and correct the same mistakes. The lower-level bookkeepers often did not appear to have the experience necessary to perform the work correctly, while the higher-level staff did not provide the oversight or assistance needed to resolve the problems. The quality of the QuickBooks work was deeply concerning. They created fake bank accounts, entered payments that were never made, changed or deleted accounts, vendors, and categories without permission, and continued making entries that had already been questioned. Their work created a much larger accounting mess than the one they were originally hired to fix. I am now dealing with incorrectly filed taxes, missing tax returns, years of delayed work, and the expense of having everything reviewed and corrected. Because of these delays and filing problems, I may now owe more than $50,000 to the government. I have an accounting background, which is how I was able to recognize many of these problems. A business owner without that experience could easily assume the work was being handled correctly until tax notices, incorrect balances, missing returns, or other major problems surfaced. They may advertise a U.S. company or U.S. presence, but based on the work I received, I would not rely on that as proof of proper U.S. tax knowledge, quality control, or accountability. My honest advice is to pay $3,000 to $5,000 for a reputable U.S.-based CPA or US accounting firm with demonstrated experience in historical bookkeeping and business tax filings. The cheaper option is not cheaper when you have to pay another professional to redo the work, correct the filings, repair your QuickBooks file, and address years of tax problems. I deeply regret ignoring the earlier reviews. Those clients were warning people about the same problems I eventually experienced, and I would not trust this company with another year of my books or tax filings. The rail reviews are the ones that come from the employees. Those are the ones that people should look at and currently they have a 3.1. Stars. Look at the photos, attached of employees complaining about management and pretty much what I’m also saying in my review.
