Company is a scam. I worked as an Apple authorized repair technician for almost 3 years. I bought an iPhone for $600 from BackMarket that came from Gizmogo and the display is fake, the back is fake and I'm assuming most of the parts inside are fake. Putting on a fake display on any iPhone 11 or newer is such a boldly dumb move because the phone itself will tell you that it's a fake and you can not set up FaceID. iPhone put this process into place by running a calibration after a display replacement that verifies the authenticity of the display. When you go to their reviews on the website, all the reviews are raves and probably fake because they sound like they were written by a marketer or publicist for the company. Do not buy from here.

Hello, we are tremendously sorry to hear that your experience with us wasn't great. Claiming that you worked for Apple as authorized repair personnel, you must know that obtaining OLED screens are near impossible unless you are the company Apple themselves. The parts that we use during the refurbishment process do pass the seller standards per Back Market and we are also an authorized Apple reseller. We do our best to make sure the products we sell are in the best condition possible because we want to sell products to our customers that leave them feeling happy, never the opposite. Again, we can't apologize enough for this experience you had.

Be careful sending in valuable items
This is a very real and legit company. I did business with them before and everything was perfect… The reason for the 1 Star Review is because I did a trade in last year and USPS picked up my package and it wasn’t received by Gizmogo. It wasn’t until after the incident they advised me that I should’ve had insurance. This is something you tell a customer when they first start the transaction! Not afterwards. I’ve been going back and forth with the USPS and they aren’t helping. I emailed Gizmogo again and no one never responded back. I would be careful sending my devices in to places like these if you don’t have insurance. Be sure to be insurance and take pictures as a precautionary measure!

Hello, we are very sorry to hear you experienced this problem last year and no one responded to your email last year as well. We are still working diligently to address this issue with shipping insurance on incoming and outgoing packages. We wish you the very best with all of your electronics selling needs and regret that you didn't have anything short of a great experience with us

Backtracked Offer for scratches that didnt exist
I was given an offer by Gizmogo for an ipad I hardly used. The 4 categories of conditions were New, Like New, Good, and Damaged. It wasn't damaged and had no signs of wear or scratches so I selected like new. I received an email saying they inspected my ipad and they adjusted the offer significantly due to "scratches on the screen". I opted to have it sent back to me, which upon personal inspection, there were no scratches to be found. I reached out asking about the scratches they claim they found and skirted around the issue claiming they have high standards surrounding their buybacks and they were sorry they couldn't do business with me. The price they now purchase the same ipad for has also been changed to their adjusted offer so it's pretty fishy to me that not only would they backtrack on the original offer due to non-existent scratches but coincidentally it happened at the same time they altered the price at which they buy these devices at. I understand that prices are constantly fluctuating but claiming there are scratches when there aren't isn't something a good business does. Be wary of dealing with Gizmogo.

Hi, We're truly sorry to hear about your experience. Our grading standard isn't the same as what people normally would think. A lot of the times people believe their device is 'like new' but per industry standards it may not always be 'like new' that people believe it to be and it saddens us to have to be the bearer of news like that. We try our very best to make sure evaluations are fair and accurate. We wish you the best moving forward with selling your device. Thank you.

Not an honest company
Sent in a like new iPad *Only used once in a otter case.* You can not get any closer to like new than it actually being new. They said it was full of scratches and offered significantly lower than they offered for me to send it in. I declined as I knew this wasn’t the case. Took a very long time to return and only after repeated emails to them asking for update on the return status. Then they sent it back with out the charger or original box, which it was sent to them in/with.

Hi, we are sorry to hear this. It's very common that people believe their device is in a better condition then what it's in, that's why it's so important to chose the right condition when sending us your device. We apologize for the delay we have been backed up due to very large amounts of orders that's why the return took longer than normal. Please reach out to us and we will happily make this right for you. Our customer service available M-F 8-5pm PST; our number is 909-247-6035. Thank you

If you don't like their offer
If you don't like their offer, they send your equipment back. Your equipment gets "lost in the mail"

They lie, change things, please read my whole review!
Update 9-10-2022: I sold the phone to a local brick and mortar in Gainesville, FL for $350. But for the trip home from Gizmogo, I would have received $400. Thankfully, this has never been about money. It’s about a company that clearly uses the highest offer to lure us, and then chops it by 54%, counting on us to be too apathetic to object. Their hidden 48 hour clause is sneaky, and is not apparent unless close attention is paid. Be very careful with this company, because there’s an excellent chance that you will happily accept significantly less than you should get. Fair is fair; right? They don’t think so. So many of the 4-5 star ratings are from folks who mention what I’ve detailed, but are only blissful because they’re ignorant of the fact that they have been taken. I won’t ever do business with them again, and I will steer everyone I can away from them. Support local shops instead.
Update 8-5-2022: I just got it back, in a very thin “bubble wrap envelope, folded in half, stuffed into a Dollar General, half sandwich bag; it traveled from CA to FL, UPS ground, in an envelope! It now has a few scratches on it! I am flabbergasted that anyone would be this blatantly negligent; or worse! Please see the pictures on my google review. I’m starting a website to expose these jokers! I call shenanigans!
Update 8/2/22: I got a call from these Bait and Switch artists first thing this morning, from a nice young man, who’s obviously tasked with damage control. First, he said my phone was there, then he said my phone was shipped out to me on the 28th, none of which shows on my “order details”, thus is news to me. I just now(11:51am EST) checked and screenshot everything in the “order details”, and the last entry is 7/22/22! This kid spent 35 minutes trying to convince me that I was being unreasonable, refused to address the enormous discrepancy between $509 and $237, asked me what “they could do to make it right”, then after first saying he would, but, after determining that my phone was allegedly sent back to me, and is in transit, changed to say that he couldn’t…..another fib! We can always do the right thing; but we have to make a choice, in order to do so. His primary goal was to convince me that I’m being unreasonable; nobody will ever convince me I’m being unreasonable here, because I’m not! He said my phone was to be returned to me on 8/4/22; a mere two weeks after they received it(sarcasm). The only thing that these people can do to make it right is to immediately put $509 in my PayPal account, cancel the shipment of my phone, and recall it. Or, in the alternative, they can put the $509 in my account, and trust me to return the phone, which I will 100% do. Unlike them, I don’t lie, I don’t say one thing and do another, I don’t let employees deal with a problem this serious, and I especially don’t appreciate his reference to my two reviews as a “crusade”.
I sent them a mint iPhone 11 Pro Max 512gb on 7-15-22. It was received 5 days later, and I was fortunate enough to check the status of the transaction, before it was too late. I was told it was worth $509; a price that I thought was a bit high, but I’m not one to turn down money. I just caught it before the 48 hour period lapsed to “make a bargain” for $237! I rejected it, obviously, and asked for it to be returned. If I hadn’t caught these scammers prior to the 48 hour time running, apparently, I’d have accepted the “bargain for them” price in the form of a gift card, not PayPal, as I’d indicated! I have no tracking number, no communication, no phone, and no money. Please read my Google review, as I was having a better day, as far as communication goes. Please help me put pressure on these lying thieves! If we don’t help one another, we will all lose to the scam!
I want to give a special shout out to the person who posted the truth, even though the scammers offered $10 for silence! That’s what I’m talking about!!!!! Thank you, and bless you!
Sadly,

Update: 10:00pm EST. I just watched my “order history” go from “returned”, even though it wasn’t, to a payout of $509, the amount I expected. I wrote the Google review days ago, so Trustpilot must be the platform they care about.

I was paid $10 not to leave this review
I recently sent in my practically mint condition 2015 MacBook Pro. A full week before sending my device I sent a number of questions regarding the packaging, software, and accessory requirements. No response. So I reinstalled my OS and ran an advanced search for MacBook chargers, which returned nothing, especially nothing indicating you will receive less if your device is missing accessories that are never explicitly required. In fact, the only thing I found was an article advising caution when sending accessories because they may not be able to be returned. I figured they must have chargers there.
So imagine my surprise when I received a payout offer that was docked $20 because I failed to send my charger. I sent my computer on 7/14, received the offer on 7/18, began reaching out to customer support (again) the same day. I tried the customer service chat, the customer service email, the phone number listed at in the footer whose garbled message left me seriously doubting it even belongs to them. Only after using Live Chat, today, 7/25, did they respond AT ALL. They also begged me not to leave a Trust Pilot review for an extra $10, promising to add the info to the site. (They first said they'd add by EOD on the 25th, then came back saying they'd "reach out to our web developers to make these adjustments," but that it "doesn't happen overnight.")
While I feel $10 is fair compensation for my inconvenience, unfortunately it is not enough to buy my silence. Hopefully they'll do the right thing and be more transparent about their requirements and payout metrics across the board, but I have my doubts. All in all, I got paid what they originally quoted me + $10, but I had to be really persistent and aggressive in documenting my searches, Gizmogo's lack of transparent payout policies, and the lack of customer service response to get it.
