I love that "get Your Pet" allows the option to "REHOME" a pet. Giving the guardian another option that going direct to a shelter. This reduces the stress on the pet.

Its a good way to connect people to one another to help an animal in need of a home. I had many conversations with Snoopi's former parent, and we have kept in touch after his adoption by me- she's a great person and really loved him. The only issue was he was,never around cats before, so we just had to wing it- I have 6 cats now. He is fascinated by them but too hyper, so we've kept them separated- not ideal, but will try to gradually work on it

In the last seven months, both my son and I have adopted adult dogs through Get Your Pet. By being able to read all about the pet first, then correspond briefly with the owners, and finally meet up with the owners and pets, we both were able to adopt great dogs who got along with each other well and fit our needs. I can say that we have been great for the dogs and the dogs have enriched our lives. It's an excellent way to find a pet that needs a good home along of course with rescuing from humane societies and other sources.
