This is what I waited for, for so long! I lost my best boy Gus 2 years ago. He was a sweet, gentle and very loving Maine coon. I was devasted and knew I'd never find another like him. After a year I began my search for another rescue. I went to shelter after shelter, looked online, with no connections. Until I found GetYourPet. Org.. it was nothing short of a Godsend that I found "Smokey" who we now call Mookie. He has made us SO happy and took the sting out of losing Gus, although, I swear, Gus is still around.. lol.. Thank you for bringing Mookie into our family!

Good service and organization

Get Your Pet is an outstanding concept and an excellent process. I was able to meet my new pet and her current owner. After adopting I was able to keep in contact with the previous owner for any questions and concerns that I may had. My pet was a family pet where the owner was no longer able to keep her. The owner was so happy that she did not have to give up her beloved pet to a shelter and was very comforted meeting the new owner and knowing that her dog was going to a good loving home. I believe I could not have found a better dog anywhere. I love my new girl!

Smooth process, so kind to allow a companion animal to stay with their current home while finding a new one. No shelter trauma. Former owner in my case has even been able to visit- a good experience for all💕

I can't recommend Get Your Pet highly enough. Speaking from the perspective of someone searching for a pet,I was so comforted by the idea of reading about and learning about potential fits for our family, and why the family was searching for a new home. I tell everyone looking for a pet to search Get Your Pet. I can't imagine the agony of leaving a pet with a shelter or rescue group when there is this option to move from one family to another. We just adore our dog Higgins; he has brought so much joy into our lives. His previous owners were very loving, but their life circumstances didn't fit with Higgins' needs, while ours did. We had been looking for a new fur baby several months after we had to put our 14 year old rescued Wheaton Terrier down...Honey was one of a kind and we knew we could never replace her. I began checking out dog rescue sites but found most of them to be money making deals. A huge fee was due then you never got to meet with the dog until she arrived. Then I just came across this site..I read about it and thought what a wonderful service they offer. I kept checking the site out daily for dogs within 100 Mike's of where we lived as we didn't mind taking the ride to meet up with the dog and her present family. I had seen 2 dogs I really loved but I think one of the owners was really having a tough time deciding to let her baby go. Then there was Molly💞 We corresponded through the site with the owner, made arrangements to meet with the owner and Molly and the minute I saw her I knew she was the one. The only problem is once you pay the fee and take ownership of the dog that's it so if the dog is ill you are responsible for all medical Bill's and treatment...the free vet exam, which we did not use, only covers a basic visit..no labs for testing g for heartworm or lyme disease. We made a personal arrangement with the owner that if we took Molly to our vet and there was a serious problem which could not be cured with meds that we could not keep her...I couldn't go through having a pet for a few months and then go through what we went through with Honey. He agreed. He chose not to come to the vet with us and she ended up having lyme disease and Anaplasmosis. We had further testing done and nothing else, kidneys, etc, had been affected. So we made the decision to keep her and have her treated...so that added an additional $400 to her $99 fee and because we could not get her within the 30 day period we were ineligible for the free pet insurance. That being said, I still think I would do all over again. I feel this site offers a great alternative service for pet owners who must put their pet up for adoption for one reason or another...rather than taking them to shelter where there is the chance they will be euthanized. We adopted Margo in April through Get Your Pet and we love her! I liked the idea of meeting her and her previous owner before making a decision. It's easier on the owners and the pets knowing that they're going from one loving family to another.

Easy to use, easy to work with. We got a great dog, it was a win win ;
