I strongly urge anyone considering working with Tongo to think twice before signing anything. While Tongo positions its product as a commission advance, it’s structured as a “future commission purchase” to bypass usury laws—yet it functions exactly like a high-interest loan. If your deal falls through or is delayed, you’re still on the hook for the full balance, plus questionable fees and interest that quickly spiral out of control. In my case, I took a $6,000 advance due in December 2024. Unfortunately, the deal associated with that commission was canceled at the same time my father passed away. I communicated with Tongo multiple times, letting them know I would absolutely repay the balance as soon as my next deal closed and even offered timelines. Instead of working with me, they doubled the balance to $12,800 within six months, filed UCC liens, and hired aggressive collection agencies who falsely threatened criminal action—which, for the record, is legally baseless and unethical. I take full responsibility for my delay in repayment, but their predatory tactics, lack of human decency, and outrageous fee structure make this a company I’ll never recommend. Their approach is not only financially punishing but emotionally cruel—especially when life throws curveballs. If you're considering using Tongo, be sure to read every word of the fine print, and seriously evaluate the long-term cost. What seems like a convenient advance can quickly turn into a nightmare.
