German with LauraReviews of germanwithlaura.com

Laura is the best teacher ever. Her method made German's concept and learning fun and all that it's learn will stay in your brain forever!

Laura is a highly competent and effective teacher whose enthusiasm and teaching style is 1000% more engaging, more interesting, and more educational than the several in-class courses I have subjected myself to! If you have a real and serious desire to learn and understand the German language... I recommend Laura with 100% certainty.

Laura Bennett of "German with Laura" uses the slogan "Get unstuck with German grammar." I can report that I recently completed the Foundations course, and I am feeling "unstuck" for the first time in (literally) years. And I'm once again looking forward to more German education! This is an especially effective course for those who, like me, are prone to self-consciousness, and take some pride in speaking articulately and accurately in our native tongues. I have used 3 other German courses, over the past 5 years, which insist that studying grammar is futile, and that one must just begin speaking, pleased to make oneself even crudely understood, and reveling in learning from whatever dopey-sounding mistakes this creates. (Yet another case of extroverts shaming, or disregarding anyone less extroverted than themselves!) Didn't work for me, and I am quite sure I'm not alone. German with Laura reveals that learning gender, declensions, plural forms, prepositions, etc can be ingeniously systematized so that internalizing German grammar is possible, and rather quickly. This has given me the confidence that I can and will become accurate enough in speaking that I will not feel foolish. And I had been pretty close to giving it all up despite having reached "B1 Intermediate" level in reading and understanding German. Highly recommended, not only, but especially, if you see anything of yourself in this review.

Subscribing to the German with Laura courses is one of my best decisions. I started learning with Duolingo and Rosetta and picked up quite a bit, but I truly began learning the language with Laura’s grammar lessons. Her organized lessons cover 90% of the language one uses in reading, writing, and speaking. And she developed amazing charts that explain the case system, noun genders, articles, etc. Students can ask questions at any time and get a quick reply. Lessons are completed at the student’s convenience, which is great because I had to suspend my study of the vocabulary portion for three months. The lessons and materials are always available for review. German with Laura is a wise investment for anyone who is serious about learning the language. I recommend it and give it 5 stars!

This was perfect for me. Why? Laura's course hit the target on everything I ever wanted to know. I have lived in Frankfurt for a long time ~speaking~ German but I now have to ~write~ German as well. Native Germans cannot explain to me how to get those word endings, how to ~feel~ that Male, Female, Neuter stuff. Native German speakers (my dear German wife, my super German daughter for example) do not understand the problem. Laura does.

I took Laura's German for English speakers course in early 2021 and it was SO useful. She helped me figure out exactly what I was hoping to understand - declension patterns, noun endings, pronouns and prepositions. This was the stuff I was really struggling with as an English speaker living in Germany (and struggling to get out to practice due to the pandemic!) Laura has a wonderful teaching style that helps you feel relaxed but also focused, and the exercises she includes are very handy too. I even started enjoying practicing this stuff once I went through Laura's course! Highly recommended for any English speaker who's mastered 'the basics' of German vocab but needs help with the tricky-but-critical grammar stuff.

I am currently working my way through 'German Foundations' course with Laura. The Resource Guide & Workbook, are very and easy to understand. Along with the online videos, which a like being in a lecture. In the videos Laura explains all the concepts very clearly. You can also ask questions at the end of each section in a written form.

Working through Laura's Foundations course removed many of the roadblocks I had struggled with for years! I'm forever grateful!!
