I have just finished German Foundations I so thought I would write a review. Laura is an absolutely first rate teacher. Her lessons are extremely clear, well paced and anticipates difficulties that the student might have. The course materials are also of a high standard. But you do have to work and concentrate hard to get the best out of it. I have been using it in parallel with Duolingo, which is good for pronunciation & vocab but not grammar. If you are serious about learning German grammar properly this is the course for you. I have already signed up for the Foundations II follow on course

I took the improved, updated version of German foundations, and it was great. The new aids and materials really reinforced my learning. The method is so effective and enjoyable!

German Foundation 1 was a true eye opener. It becomes so intuitive as the course goes on. I have learnt a lot that I have actually been able to remember. I have read some external texts, which I do not completely understand but can pick out different grammar rules in the text. I have now progressed to GF2 which is continuing the high standard of German learning that is now expected from Laura and crew/family. Yesterday, after having a break from learning for some time, I had a slight problem with a particular grammar point, but a quick revisit of the relevant section in GF1 and now I am back on track with German Foundations 2. I cannot recommend Laura's courses highly enough.

What an excellent course! Laura is a fantastic teacher, and although I have been trying to learn German for a long time, because of the German Foundations 1 Course I finally feel that I am starting to understand the language. I would strongly recommend this course to anyone who is seeking to learn the building blocks of the German language.

Phenomenal. Laura's course reflects why I was drawn to learning to learn German in the first place: efficient, pattern-based, structural. I feel so lucky in that I found her course at the beginning of my German (ultra)learning project. I think that she may have saved me months of frustration. I'm beyond pleased. Highly recommended.

Just finished German Foundations 1, and I feel so empowered. I'm astounded at what I've learned in this course. I'm even more astounded at the ease with which I've learned it. Laura breaks this info down into "bite-sized chunks" that are so easy to take in and understand! She's also super encouraging, and she makes the course fun. I almost feel as if I were taking this class in person. The provided course materials are first rate, as well; they will be a welcome resource for years to come! I'm super excited to begin GF2! Learning German has always been on my "to do" list, and I feel as though I'm definitely on my way to crossing that entry off as "done"! Thank you Laura!

LOVE how Laura simplifies the learning of difficult elements of German grammar! I also love that Laura is upfront about the fact that learning German (as with any foreign language acquisition) requires students to “do the work”. The promise of becoming “fluent in 3 months” isn’t very realistic IMHO, and I much prefer to lay a solid foundation upon which to build, as can be done with Laura’s German Foundations course and German Foundations ll.

I am in the midst of Laura's German Foundations Two. It is well worth the price of admission. I personally find some of the fine points of German grammar to be difficult, but on her videos Laura discusses them clearly with examples, as well as practice exercises. The great thing is you can watch each video as often as you want to aid in your understanding, and questions you submit are promptly answered. The Resource Guide book, with its charts and shortcuts, is awesome.
