A highly unsafe and unethical precedent set by GEICO auto insurance. -> I have been a GEICO customer for around 15 years. -> I have had No Insurance claims for the past 15 years with GEICO -> Clean Driving record -> After a brief break where I didn’t need insurance as I was overseas, I returned to United States and restarted my plan with GEICO in September 2022. -> At the time of activation of policy I CLEARLY provided answers to the question of additional drivers in house hold as not needed at this time as there were none. -> My policy got activated at the provided rate. -> According to GEICO customer service GEICO received approval to raise insurance rates on September 15th 2022. -> GEICO sends mails ( obsolete method) as king for information on additional drivers which I had already clearly provided at time of registration of policy. -> GEICO plays the technical loophole of not calling the customer or even bothering to send an email for the information needed, which had already been provided at time of policy activation. -> GEICO silently cancels the policy without any call or email which any ethical company would know is what the customer checks . -> Customer is left without coverage and is unaware of the cancellation of policy done without a simple call or email notification. -> couple of weeks later I notice the premium didn’t get deducted so logged in to account to find out to my horror the policy had been cancelled without me knowing that. -> I call GEICO to find out the reason of cancellation and I am told it was due to information on additional drivers requested via post mail. Not to forget I had already provided this clearly at the time of policy activation as this is a mandatory question. -> I ask for the policy to be restarted , this time I am given a quote 60% higher . -> at this time I realize this sleazy act was to have customers assigned the new rates, specifically the customers that had signed up just before the rate hike approval GEICO received from the government on September 15 2022. -> the customer service tells me I had just sneaked in time for my policy to get the pre hike rate. -> this sleazy , scammy and unethical act by GEICO has caused me high anxiety after learning that I was not covered until I logged into my account and saw the cancellation. -> to add insult to injury I have received civil penalties for the period I didn’t have insurance which was a very unprofessional and scam act by GEICO to target revised rates for customers. -> this is a very cheap act for a company which otherwise had a betting reputation. -> I hope higher executives at GEICO take notice of this to prevent long term loss of reputation for the company as well as damages to customers mental health.

Bullying, harassment, and awful customer service. The saved payment method (credit card) expired for my auto and renters insurance. They sent me multiple emails and letters threatening to cancel my policies. I updated the payment method, made the payment, and yet the emails and letters threatening to cancel my policy continued to come. I sent in a check, double paying and still the threats come. I tried to call customer service, but had a 40+ minute wait, I tried the online chat option and was number 93 in line. It's like they do this on purpose so you get too frustrated to talk to customer service. I'll be writing negative reviews EVERYWHERE that I can.

Scott Rumple, an auto damage adjuster, fought me on an $11 payout when I paid GEICO to get payouts for accidents – and I was in an accident. After I got off the phone with him where he fought me, I was incredulous. And I still am. Rumple also said he would make the payout and then I didn't hear from him. It was when I called to follow up that Rumple then fought me. Rumple’s behavior was the last straw among many other issues with GEICO in general that resulted in me switching to a new company for auto insurance. In a separate incident, GEICO customer service also hung up on me and I don’t understand why.

If you only can afford basic coverage and not collision and comprehensive go somewhere else because there's a reason they're the cheapest. I had a lady hit me and although it's easily proven that it wasn't my fault they still paid her without even investigating and I have to sue her insurance which is Progressive. All other companies are better than Geico and they don't deserve anyone's business. Also, why do you think they have to advertise so much if they're so good?

Their roadside assistance is non-existent. Last summer I asked if I had roadside service on my motorcycle and they verified yes I do so I let me AAA Premier membership cancel. Today March 1st I broke down on the way to work and requested their service at 12:30 pm. After two hours nobody came so I called again and they said nobody was dispatched. After 4 hours the towing company who said they'd come told me they wouldn't take me all the way to my address so I called Geico again and they couldn't find anyone. I had to call an outside company and face a $225 towing bill because of this. I will be sending in this bill for reimbursement along with a BBB complaint against their company for this. I will be going back with AAA which is only $150 a year. I also lost a whole day's wages over this ordeal. Thank you, Geico.

I cannot believe how rude Richard in the chat was. I wish I had his last name so I could be more clear. He wasted my time with short answers until I finally got him to explain why he was denying me a discount, that a previous agent explained to me existed but I couldn’t have. He then told me it didn’t even exist and that I wasted HIS time. Terrible service, now I remember why I stopped using them years ago. Cancelling again. Worst company.

After ten years of Geico MC insurance I had to file a claim, and they doubled my rates. I went from 800 to 1600 a year for one 2300 claim.
