Gate 1 TravelReviews of gate1travel.com

The personal care and service are excellent from booking the trip to arriving in Egypt through the entire experience. Everything was easy, well organized and fun. The accommodations were fantastic, including both hotels and the river cruise. Our experience with the guide was phenomenal. She was knowledgeable, helpful, kind and really a complete pleasure. Anyone who gets to have Rasha as a guide will be a lucky traveler. Also the crew on the river boat were fantastic and did everything possible to make you comfortable and to address any of your needs. Finally, the destination itself is magnificent.

Excellent tours of both London and Paris. This company does it right. Very organized, well informed and entertaining tour guides. We hit all the highlights as told and traveled in comfort. I am already looking for my next trip!

Our recent trip to Greece could not have been better. Our guide/chaperone Efi, was wonderful in all aspects. The itinerary was exceptional and was a good mix of activities and free time. Greece is a wonderful country with a rich history and the people were warm and welcoming.

Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest, Vienna with Bratislava, and Prague. Well-organised from start to finish, good central hotels, a comfortable coach and an excellent driver. But what made this trip was our tour manager, Derek Payne. Our start did not go to plan and we joined the group late. That we were able to join at all was in large part down to Derek and to Gate 1, who sorted it out instead of leaving us to deal with it ourselves. He met us like royalty, and from the first minute we felt completely in his care, as if we had been with the group from day one. Derek is a tactful man who reads people — he knows when to step in and when to leave you be. He has a fine sense of humour, sometimes very British, and that is exactly what gives it its charm. His knowledge is on another level: history, culture, architecture, local life, the small things you would never find in a guidebook. He doesn't recite facts; he explains why a place matters, and you remember it afterwards. This part of Europe is clearly his home ground, and it shows in every single day of the tour. If you end up on a Central Europe departure with Derek as your tour manager, you are in the best possible hands. A big thank you to Gate 1 for a very well run trip.

The places gate one introduced are excellent, beautiful and magnificent, Tour director is very friendly and helpful. Gate one offers very consistent good service as always does.

My daughter and I just took our first Gate 1 tour to Amsterdam, Bruges, Paris, and London. The add-on experiences that we booked were a lot of fun, though we did not take all of the add-ons, allowing us some extra time to explore on our own. Our driver Conny did a phenomenal job and was so kind and attentive.  Our tour manager Jean-Pascal, was engaging, funny, and knowledgeable. He kept our group informed at each step of the tour and provided thoughtful guidance on activities, dining, and how best to navigate at each stop. All of the local tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Gate 1 did a great job of accommodating our vegetarian diet. My daughter and I had such a great time that we’ve begun planning our next adventure with Gate 1.

My mom and I just took our first Gate 1 trip: the 10-day classic through Amsterdam, Bruges, Paris, and London. This was a perfect first trip for us. Our tour manager, Jean-Pascal, was wonderful. He always went out of his way to make everyone comfortable and answer any questions. He shared interesting facts about each location and spoiled us with special local treats. Our bus driver, Conny, did an excellent job getting us safely around the first three countries and was so sweet! All of the local guides did a phenomenal job. Our London guide was especially funny! It was so nice not to have to worry about transportation and hotels. We loved the mix of scheduled activities and free time to explore on our own. That balance made the trip feel especially worthwhile, and we’re already trying to pick our next Gate 1 adventure.

It was the trip of a lifetime. Great hotels, excellent guide and drivers. It was totally wonderful.
