Friendly Bear University (FBU) is an online trading education company specializing in short selling and small cap stock trading. Founded by professional trader David Capablanca, FBU teaches traders to replace guesswork with a structured, repeatable process built on risk management, discipline, and consistency. David has more than 10 years of experience trading small cap stocks, with a focus on short selling low float, high momentum, catalyst-driven names. Business Insider has profiled him as a verified seven-figure short seller with a 90% win ratio, and he has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, USA Today, NASDAQ, and the Miami Herald. FBU's core program, The Blueprint Course & Mentorship, covers trade thesis development, tape reading, entry timing, and risk management, with courses for beginner, intermediate, and advanced traders, live trading workshops, and an active trader community. Every strategy is taught alongside a clear risk plan that defines position size, stop placement, and maximum loss before a trade is entered. Prospective students can book a free 15-minute discovery call to see whether the Blueprint is the right fit, with no commitment required. Trading involves substantial risk, and past performance does not guarantee future results. FBU provides education only, not financial advice.

David blends sharp strategic insight with deep knowledge. He doesn’t just offer generic advice, he takes the time to truly understands our unique challenges, uncover our blind spots, and help us reframe the way we think. Every lessons and podcast he shares delivers practical tools, fresh perspective and a clear action plan. His guidance is thoughtful , actionable, and genuinely transformative. Having David as a mentor has brought greater clarity, confidence and direction to the way I approach my challenges and navigate the complexities of the world of trade.

Friendly Bear University teaches you how to think and do your own research. The webinars and trade examples are especially valuable because David is willing to go through both good and bad trades, explain what happened, what was missed, and what can be learned from them. There is thousands of hours of material used to transfer the knowledge as straightforward as possible and build your trading experience. For anyone who genuinely wants to understand short selling, due diligence, and the mechanics behind these stocks rather than guessing or simply being handed trades to follow, FBU is a very valuable educational resource.

David’s mentorship is not just about calling out stocks to watch like other communities do. His trade review videos are really useful for traders who are actively day trading the small caps because he knows how to explain why a certain stock should be avoided and which should be traded when it appears on the scanner again. I recommend traders who really want to focus on shorting small caps to look into what his FBU offers

I’m very happy with this new experience in small caps. In these few months at FBU, I have been able to learn many things that would have taken me a long time to understand without the guidance of an excellent mentor like David.

I have been a student of David’s for over 2 years now, and he has made the biggest positive impact in my trading career. I was very inconsistent as a long trader until I began to learn the other side of the market. That knowledge alone was what flipped me into consistent profitability. FBU has given me the framework to safely build my own trading identity. David teaches safety and consistent growth over chasing PnL. He readily makes himself available to his students. His courses are mentorship are pure gold, and I hold David and FBU in high regard and recommend the program to any serious trader who wants a shot at becoming a professional day trader.

I've been trading small caps since 2019, mostly on the short side, and I've been part of Friendly Bear University since the very beginning, including as a collaborator. So I've seen this program grow from the ground up, and my honest opinion is that there is no other place offering this level of fundamental education for traders who want to take this seriously. Most trading education stops at the chart. FBU goes behind it. In small caps, price action is often driven by what's in the filings: S1s, shelf registrations, ATMs, warrant coverage, convertible notes, cash runway, and the financing deals that set up the pump and dilute cycles we see every week. David teaches you how to read all of that and connect it to what's happening on the chart, so you understand why a stock is moving and who is likely on the other side of the trade. What I value most is that the approach is built on process and risk management, not alerts or hype. You learn to research a ticker yourself, identify the dilution risk, respect the squeeze risk, and wait for your setup instead of forcing trades. If you're serious about small caps, especially shorting, and you're willing to put in the work, FBU is where I'd point you. It's the foundation I wish I had when I started.
