Well, as a FN admin, there are some things that can be better. For example, when pasting or editing a link the URL shows up in a tiny window and the URL is obscured so you can't tell if the URL you pasted is correct or not. This should behave like most web editors which bring up a dialog box that has the text and the URL in 2 separate text boxes to make it easy to use. Also, our whole FN user community is VERY disappointed at the 5-line limit for comments since we rely heavily on those for group discussions. Also, it would be very helpful if the comments could be edited with the editor used by the FN admin. It's very hard for users to format their comments and determine if URLs are correctly entered as links or not, etc. Yes, I mean the display limit of 5 lines! It is very hard to have to click the 'Read more' button on a bunch of comments just to see what folks have commented on; many times it's more than 5 lines. Some of us have resorted to posting multiple comments of 5 or less lines just to make it easier for people to see the comments!

I have been following Bishop Barron for a while and when the Evangelization program with Sister Elizabeth Scalia was available and we were trying to refill the pews after our area was seeing a reduction in cases and many had been able to get shots. This appealed to me was presented to my Pastor. He liked the idea. I set up a class, invited 20 people, had 10 appear and used the evangelization course to teach them how to evangelize and we took on the job of calling our church members not attending currently, inviting them back, giving them the Easter schedule, talking about the new equipment, so that masks could be used in designated rooms by remote and receiving the Eucharist from masked EMHC's. We had two weeks to complete the project. After completion, we had many thank us for the call and let them know we missed them and welcomed them back to our church family. Many people loved this and felt a closer tie with the church. Flocknote is how we comunicated with our team..

My interest in the tool is to improve communication between people in our parish, which I believe was your original intent. When we approached our Priest, he wanted to use it initially for evangelization during Lent because of WoF and that the diocese just formed an Evan committee. The E word is polarizing rather than unifying. Bishop B is great, however not as a focus point in a communication tool. We are only a month in and already there are problems and rising resistance due to the emphasis on Evan. Our Priest, in my opinion, either doesn't recognize what is happening or indifference as to whether it succeeds or not. The other problem is the level of youthful enthusiasm and cuteness of training seminars. Also for old guys, less tech sav, like me simple looks complicated. I truly believe what you offer is a God Send in the true sense of the word, however not all your customers share your level of excitement, which leads me to the point I made recently to you after attending a live seminar for admins--- Is it sustainable? That is the million dollar question for those who have been burned (out) before. Thank you for what you are doing. It is truely amazing and so needed in our Churches today in building FAITH communities. A user manual with timely revisions would be would be helpful in contrast to online video libraries to watch. When an improvement change happens, you could just send a notice of the rev. This would make information easier to absorb and understand. You wouldn't have to keep repeating the same messages - maybe it is a time and resource saver for you too?

This was a great working session and an excellent use of my time. Liz called promptly at our meeting time and we got right down to business, since both of us already had my Flocknote page open. She walked me through all my issues so I could do the learning (and not have her do it for me). At the same time, she backed up my draft message just in case I pushed the wrong thing. That removed all anxiety. I was delighted to be able to solve all my logistics problems very easily - all in a very productive half hour. For the system question, she followed up with an email that I could cut/paste to send to my participants who are not receiving the weekly Flocknote message, so I now have a strategy to pursue for that gnarly issue. BEST, I feel that I could contact her again if I run into another wall.

My only problem is that I am a youth minister and have groups of kids and then groups of their parents separately for emails. I cannot put the same email in 2 different groups

I began using Flocknote to communicate with the members of my ministry. After a time, I stopped receiving reply messages from my group and from other groups to which I belong. I contacted Flocknote and resolved the issue by using a different email account. This worked for a short time, however my group members began to have problems connecting to their own accounts and could not receive my messages. After several statements to correct the individual problems, I resumed using my regular email to communicate with ministry members.

I used to use Constant Contact, so learning Flocknotes wasn't too difficult, but is in some ways harder to find the things I'm immediately looking for when I log on, such as the latest email I sent, and the responses. Or how to easily add, delete, or edit a person's contact information in a group. I think the most frustrating thing is when I import a group from an excel chart and it doesn't add some of the people to the group because their email or phone # was associated with another person. I import a lot of students who are using their parents' email or phone number, so that is a common experience that adding a new name to Flocknotes (a child or his sibling, for instance) will still be using the same email or phone number. By not adding them to the group, I now have to either delete the phone # from their record, or remember who the students are who it did not accept so I can forward them the email separately. I do like the ease of creating attractive emails, but sometimes the things above slow the process down to send them to all the right people.

I haven't been able to use Flocknote because, as a regular admin, I don't have the ability to update contact information for those who belong to multiple groups. Also, I can't target portions of my list using filters because the "send" option isn't available to filtered lists. If I could delete and recreate groups, the problem would be solved in a round-about way; but, ideally, I'd like to be able to send notes directly to those in filtered lists. I've mentioned this before.
