The management is unsupportive & punitive
Update: Flalingo doesn't demonstrate the ability to acknowledge or correct their mistakes, instead they make promises which they revoke, and then make excuses for it. After revoking their word, negating, and denying all my complaints, they called me unprofessional. Professional means working and behaving in such a way that others think of them as competent, reliable and respectful. Since I have complained, they deleted my account. It is clear that they choose to keep the platform running slowly as an excuse to deduct money from tutors. No one should go to work and lose money. No one should be penalized for something which is not in their control. No one should be blamed for something they didn't do, and no one should be disparaged for such. Working for Flalingo has been a liability to my finances and health. Update: I have had no bookings for the past month and now my tutor account was deleted today. The company has no follow through on its word and do things behind your back. They never deposited my recent earnings into my PayPal account, so they have stolen that from me too. Update: The management contacted me and listened to my complaints. They agreed to refund me all deductions made. They never did. I offered to support them in teacher training or event planning to increase work morale. They kept pressuring me to take down my negative review. I told them I'll take it down once I see changes have been put in effect. Nothing has changed. The management is unsupportive, uncommunicative, and punitive. They blame teachers for not showing up for lessons when there are technological glitches on the platform. The platform is not working in real time, so any cancellation or new booking appears after the fact. Student messages arrive late, also after the fact. The management doesn't listen to teacher feedback to improve the platform in real time, among other feedback. They deduct money from your wages when there are technological glitches such as Zoom not automatically connecting you to the classroom. This is a waste of time for both student and teacher. Then students block you for not showing up to class. Even providing screenshots of the problem to management, they deny what happened and blame you anyway. The management doesn't accept responsibility for anything. Teachers being blamed and deducted wages brings down the morale and makes is a toxic workplace environment. Update 11 May 2026 - It has taken over a year for Flalingo to reply in a respectful and professional manner. There has been no action taken to fulfill their promises to refund all the deductions and no effort to restore my teacher account. Although this is very well written, I would expect the second part of an apology which is action taken to make amends and such would be repayment of all deductions and reopening my tutor account. Next would be eradicating déductions in general and making the platform fiction in realtime with an internal video stream thereby eliminating the third party tech glitches and problems with Zoom. I would hope and expect to receive all that as the way forward.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and concerns in such detail. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience on the platform led to this level of frustration and disappointment. We understand from your feedback that you experienced concerns related to communication, technical processes, bookings, deductions, and overall support experience, and we recognize how stressful and discouraging that can feel. At Flalingo, we take both student and tutor experiences very seriously. We continuously work on improving platform stability, operational communication, lesson management systems, scheduling processes, and support structures in order to create a more reliable and transparent environment for everyone using the platform. We also understand how important clarity, trust, and consistency are in all operational and payment-related processes. Feedback regarding technical difficulties, communication delays, booking visibility, and tutor support is carefully reviewed by the relevant teams to help improve our systems and processes over time. While we cannot discuss account-specific matters publicly, we genuinely appreciate detailed feedback from tutors because it helps us identify areas where the experience can be improved further. We are sorry that your experience did not reflect the kind of environment we aim to build for our tutor community, and we thank you again for taking the time to share your perspective.
