We understand why receiving interest from other members and then not receiving replies after subscribing would raise concerns. However, a lack of response does not necessarily mean a message wasn't delivered. Members may be communicating with someone else, may reconsider their initial interest, or may simply choose not to respond. As with any dating service, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that another member will reply. What we can assure you is that Fitness Singles does not create fake messages or expressions of interest to encourage members to subscribe. Likes and messages are generated by members of the site. Hiding a Fitness Singles profile removes it from search and matching results, but it does not prevent members you previously connected or communicated with from sending you a message. As a result, it is possible to receive a message notification even while your profile is hidden. We understand that receiving these emails after being away from the site for some time could be confusing. We’d like to clarify a few points in this review. Fitness Singles is a niche dating service, and our subscription prices are generally lower than those of many of the major dating platforms. Fitness Singles does not create or use fake profiles. Like other dating platforms, we do encounter people attempting to create fraudulent accounts, and we’ve recently implemented new anti-spam and fraud-detection technology to identify and remove suspicious profiles more quickly. We also don’t believe it’s accurate to say that a member who changes their mind is automatically “out of luck.” Refund requests are reviewed based on the individual circumstances and account activity. Subscription and renewal terms are clearly disclosed before purchase, in the confirmation email, and within the member’s account. We understand the frustration if you were primarily looking to meet someone nearby. Fitness Singles is a niche community, so the number of compatible members in an immediate area can vary. Many of our members travel for sports, fitness events and other activities and enjoy connecting with active singles outside their local area. For that reason, we don't strictly limit all connections to a member's preferred distance and may show compatible members from other areas. We understand that this approach may not be ideal for someone interested only in local connections, and we appreciate the feedback.

Fitness Singles has had a strong UK presence since 2005, so we’re sorry your experience did not reflect the size of our UK community. We do continue to show some members who have not logged in recently. Dating activity can be intermittent, and when a member receives a new message or expression of interest, they may return to the site to respond. For that reason, we don’t automatically remove someone from potential matches simply because they haven’t logged in for a few weeks. We understand that you would prefer to see only very recently active members, and we appreciate the feedback.

Fitness Singles does not create or send fake messages or expressions of interest to encourage people to purchase a subscription. Since you decided not to subscribe, you unfortunately never had the opportunity to communicate with those members or evaluate the paid service for yourself. Fitness Singles has been connecting active singles since 2003. Individual experiences with online dating naturally vary, and we encourage prospective members to consider a range of experiences when deciding whether Fitness Singles is right for them.
