Hi Zachary — I'm sorry the project was delayed. To clarify for anyone reading: the part on order 170750 was the HCP2Z, which fits a single 2x member. Simpson Strong-Tie doesn't make a double-2x version of this hip corner plate, so there wasn't a different bracket we could swap in — we sent you Simpson's own drawing and specs showing that. When you asked to return them, we sent the return form the same morning, and the refund will be issued upon receipt of return. Joe, you're right to be frustrated, and I'm sorry. We gave you an estimated ship date of October 6 and missed it. Your reel was due on our weekly stock shipment from the manufacturer, but they were shut down for inventory most of last week and our delivery arrived well short, without your reel on it. Thanks for the feedback, and we're sorry the order ended up costing more than you expected. Import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees on international shipments are set by the destination country's customs agency and collected by the carrier. We don't set them, collect them, or receive any part of them. We know that's frustrating when the bill shows up at delivery. If you email us with your order number, we'll gladly review what you were charged and see if there's anything we can do to help.

Here's what happened: the remaining 3 bits on your order are on backorder from the manufacturer (Relton), which just gave us an updated ship date of 10/9. That's on them, but keeping you informed was on us, and we didn't. After you reached out, we got the in-stock 3" version of the bit shipped to you same-day, along with 3 additional bits at no charge, so you can finish your project without waiting on the factory.
