Mike and Jamie are 1000% the real deal. Lifesavers, above and beyond customer service. They got my IDP done for me with incredible efficiency and personal attention from start to finish, which put my mind at ease when I found myself in the stressful position of needing to obtain an IDP on short notice and after business hours. More details below, but the short and sweet: Fast IDP’s service is absolutely worth the price and then some, and they will do everything they can to take care of you. The longer story: When I recently unexpectedly had to rent a car in EU and didn’t realize this until I was at JFK at 8:30pm, I discovered that all the rental agencies stated online that they required an IDP to be presented. I quickly learned that 99.9% of online sites stating they provide “instant” IDPs are scams. But after reading a few reviews of Fast IDP, and learning that they partner with AAA, one of only two agencies licensed by the Department of State to issue IDPs, I decided to contact them via their online chat. I got an auto reply that it was after hours and to leave a message, but then right away Mike joined the chat and answered my questions and gave me really good advice. He was *helping* me with my situation and not just trying to make a sale. He reassured me that although it wasn’t feasible to get a physical IDP in my hands, or even a digital scan, by the time my flight landed a few hours later, it was also likely that I wouldn’t actually be required to present an IDP to rent a car in the specific countries I’d be driving in. I decided to go ahead and order the IDP through Fast IDP anyway, as Mike said I’d be able to get a digital scan by the next evening EU time, and I figured I could just wait for the scan if it was required. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it! Especially as there wasn’t much wiggle room in my schedule. The process of applying and ordering the IDP was straightforward and simple, didn’t take too long, I did it all on my phone while I waited at the gate for my flight to board. Mike stayed in touch with me by email throughout the whole process, gave me updates as steps were accomplished, and ended up being able to email me the digital scan of my new IDP several hours earlier than expected. Luckily, just like Mike had predicted, the rental agency didn’t ask for the IDP at the counter, so I didn’t need it right there and then, but I have it for my trip now, which is a good thing if I get pulled over or into any kind of accident. Better safe than up a creek with no paddle! The physical IDP reached me less than 72 hours from when I first contacted IDP. Phenomenal. In this age of ubiquitous online scams (especially in this particular business), Mike and Jamie put themselves miles ahead of the pack. Actually, I’m pretty sure there is no pack. It’s just Fast IDP if an actual, *real* valid and fast IDP is what you need.

Truly excellent experience. I'm a US citizen living abroad in Asia and needed an IDP for a trip to Italy. Mike and Jamie helped me get my IDP in a jiffy, with the total process taking about a week from start to finish. Submitted my application on July 23, was notified on the 26th that my permit was processed and shipped, and received the package on the 31st (all went as advertised). They also sent me timely updates on the status of my permit throughout the entire process, including screenshots of the actual permit and the FedEx envelope it was being shipped in. While actually driving in Italy, we were pulled over by local police for a spot documentation check. Happily, we were able to provide a legitimate IDP and be on our way without issue. I’ve been deployed in Antarctica for nearly a year, and post deployment travel plans require that I have an international driving permit in order to rent a car. Without Fast IDP, it would have been nearly impossible to receive an IDP in a timely fashion given the infrequency of flights to and from this remote stretch of Earth. The quick processing that the Fast IDP team provided in obtaining my permit assured that I received my permit in Antarctica before leaving the ice. The continual communication when the team thought shipment tracking looked strange/package potentially lost was also much appreciated. They offered to ship another IDP, but I reassured them that the tracking looked correct for when mail was being held by the Air Force for a next available ice mission. I highly recommend Fast IDP!

Like others, I was skeptical but read the reviews here on Trustpilot and went with FAST IDP. I had my Int'l Drivers Permit within 3 days of ordering it from Spain. I highly recommend this service. Trying to go through AAA directly to get your permit sent overseas is a joke. Also, there are a lot of scams so be wary. I will use this company again if we are in a crunch and can't get back to the US to get our permits next year.

A summary before a full review: If you have a US driver's license, need an International Driver's license, and are already abroad or don't have time to go to AAA in person, this is 100% the company you're looking for. They're one of a handful of legitimate companies who can handle this for you. I've been traveling internationally for several decades. Normally, I go to AAA myself when I'm in the US before leaving to go abroad to pickup my IDP. If you're unaware, AAA is the only authorized issuer of IDPs for international driver's licenses for US driver's licenses and you have to visit them in person or mail in a physical application. There are many companies online that promise that they will issue you an IDP (either physical or digital). While what they issue you may be valid for driver's licenses from other countries, they are not valid (despite what they say) for US licenses; you'll pay a bunch of money, get a 'card' but it'll basically be as valid as you printing your own. If someone who knows the laws surrounding US licenses sees it, they will turn you away and if you are pulled over by a police officer, they may cite you (or worse). This trip, though, I realized that my last IDP had expired way earlier than I remembered. That's my fault. I was already in Spain and only had a week until I need to rent a vehicle. My options were to mail an application to AAA and have them mail me a new one (estimated turn around time of a few months), try to convince a friend/family member to go to AAA with all of my information to sort it, or to go back to the US to handle it in person. Or at least that's what I thought my only options were... that's when I found FastIDP. It was clear from their website that they were familiar with the rules for US licenses and had designed their service around it. You give them your driver's license information/scans, fill out the AAA application, and provide them with a digital passport photo to use. They then physically go to AAA for you, provide the documentation, receive the IDP, and mail it to you. It's perfect. They processed my IDP same-day (a Thursday) and I received it in Spain a few days later (a Monday). That is exceptionally fast of a turn around. They also kept me updated throughout the entire process and sent me pictures of my IDP as soon as they had it in hand to let me know the task was complete. Honestly, that's better than I would have received from any family member sorting it for me. Sure, they may be slightly more expensive than some other services online, but that's because you're actually getting a legit IDP and not an invalid (read: scam) piece of plastic. So, imo, just pay the money and use FastIDP if you want to save yourself the headache and enjoy your vacation properly. You won't regret it.
