A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. They posted someone else's payment to my account which caused my billing to be thrown off . They didn't fix it they just billed me. After speaking with several mangers and hours later I was told it would be taken care of. It wasn't. Worst customer service I have had.

Avoid Farmers Insurance
armers bought out MetLife a year ago. MetLife was wonderful. They replaced my roof when a hail storm went through my area nine years ago. Farmers is another story. They just notified me that my homeowner's policy will not be renewed. This is final. Reason given was my roof looked like it needed to be replaced. My roof is nine years old and I have the receipts. They will not let me show that the roof was replaced or have an inspection to prove it does not need to be replaced. If this is the way they do business, how would they be if a customer put in a claim? Deny it and not let you provide documentation that the claim should be covered? Horrible insurance company. Glad this happened. I'm now insured with a much better insurance company. Avoid Farmers and go with a different company.

We hate Farmers - bum bumda ba bum bum bum
Had homeowners and auto insurance with MetLife - awesome! MetLife gets acquired by Farmers - complete crap!!!
- Changed my address online and yet mail kept going to wrong address.
- Then organized to cancel homeowners with sale of home. Farmers continued to bill for cancelled policy, but figured delay in mail - like the bill was sent before they got the cancellation - nope.
- Then started getting text messages to pay or they'd cancel, but it ALREADY WAS CANCELLED! How do you cancel a cancelled policy?
- Got fed up that address was still wrong, kept getting notifications for a cancelled policy and decided to cancel auto insurance and go to StateFarm.
- Now Farmers sent to us to collections that a balance is due for a CANCELLED homeowners POLICY from dates we didn't even own the home AFTER we submitted cancellation paperwork!
- We better not get sent to collections for a cancelled auto policy next!!!
Too bad MetLife got acquired by such a terrible company. All Farmers is good for is a little chuckle from their commercials. Otherwise - RUN!

Impossible claim satisfaction
I had a women hit my Jeep in parking lot. She was insured by State Farm. When I declined to go to "their" shop the trouble began! After waiting 2 weeks I contacted them. This was after claim was filed. After being on Hold 30 minutes I was told to download thier app. I don't like downloading stuff on my phone but ok. I sent pics and waited another week. Called back got a very condiscending person that basically told me I was stupid and do it again! I lost it told them to take their claim and shove it! I would rather fix my Jeep myself than to have to deal with state farm. I am going to make it my mission to tell everyone about how hard it is to make a claim with state farm. Thank God I don't have insurance with them!

I have been with farmers for 15 years…
I have been with farmers for 15 years and tried to get roof replaced. they denied any payment for roof and said their is a law that lets them deny claim to a roof that is over 20 years old. 15 years of collecting money from me and my first claim they say I need to prove roof was replaced within 15 years. Not good at all. I have been trying to collect but to no avail. How can insurance and politicians do this? Do they not inspect roof as well? I am letting everyone I know to be careful because insurance will let your roof lapse because of homeowners who don't know any better and are not roofers. I am going to put this on as many reviews as possible.

BUYER BEWARE!
BUYER BEWARE!
Our home flooded on December 26th. Based on coverage recommendations MADE BY OUR AGENT at time of policy binding, we purchased a policy that was to have included water damage and coverage up to $50K per claim (again, based on the recommendation of our agent). After our home flooded, we filed a claim and Farmers determined that our policy entitled us to ONLY $1,000 based on specific coverage levels. OUR AGENT HAS ACKNOWLEDGED, MULTIPLE TIMES, THAT THIS WAS HER ERROR, yet the corporate office refuses to pay the $30,000+ that will be required to repair the home and replace all of the furnishings that were destroyed.
Our agent informed us, based on corporate's refusal to pay, and her acknowledgement that this was her error, that an investigation would be opened and we should expect to hear from representatives from both Foremost and Lancer (2 divisions of Farmers). We made MULTIPLE calls, resulting in voicemails that went unreturned. A week later, our agent then informed us that the so called investigation had been closed (again, without ever having a conversation with us) and it was determined that Farmers was not at fault - again AFTER our agent had already acknowledged, more than once, that this was her error.
We have paid THOUSANDS of dollars over the past 4 years to ensure our homes had adequate coverage in the event a claim was needed - as we've asked the agency (really, anyone who will listen) - WHO would voluntarily pay thousands of dollars knowing that the coverage amount would only allow for $1000 - that is ridiculous. The person from corporate, who called today, stated that unless we had it in writing that our policy should have included both water damage and coverage limits up to $50,000, they are not at fault. I interpret this to mean: WE are expected to be the Insurance Professional, not our agent, and even though we were following our agent's advice on coverage limits, and even though the agent has assumed responsibility for this error, corporate is insistent that this is our problem / our fault. This entire case screams of negligence and we will continue to pursue this by whatever means necessary. Whatever you do, DO NOT use Farmers Insurance for covering your assets - they're crooks and will look for any loophole possible to refuse payment!

I live in Arizona had farmers full…
I live in Arizona had farmers full coverage as my car is new. The renewal for insurance was $650.00 more per year. It went from 1450 to 2065. I've been driving for over 45 years never had a ticket or accident. There reasoning was all the uninsured drivers good drivers have to pay for. The real truth is they were bought by another company and raising rates to gain back the money spent in the acquisition. Then after I canceled and went with USAA Farmers says they won't renew my policy because it didn't meet there standards????? They were the ones who sold me the policy to begin with. If you live in Arizona there is much better insurance from honest and reputable companies. Shop around. My new USAA insurance is better and costs 700 less.
