They were the worst rated insurance…
They were the worst rated insurance companies 20 years ago, and they just got the opportunity to screw me over again since they bought out my ins company Metlife. Unbelievable.
In 1928, two men shared a dream of providing a quality insurance product at a reasonable price. In the decades that followed we’ve grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of Americans. But one constant has remained: We have an unwavering commitment to uphold our founding ideals to provide industry-leading products and first-rate services to the customers we’re privileged to serve.Different Eras, Same Exceptional ServiceFarmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans. In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you.Today, the companies comprising the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies make up one of the country's largest insurers of vehicles, homes and small businesses and provide a wide range of other insurance and financial services products.Farmers is proud to serve more than 10 million households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 21,000 employees. The Farmers Exchanges are three reciprocal insurers (Farmers Insurance Exchange, Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange) owned by their policyholders, and together with their subsidiaries and affiliates comprise the Farmers Insurance Gr

Farmers is the worst car insurance I have ever had! My policy was sold to them by MetLife or they have acquired MetLife insurance. I had MetLife for 15 years and in less than 2 years with Farmers, I have already switched today. For me I had nothing but disappointment after disappointment. They use threatening tactic and I didn’t even have a single claim with them and to top it off they just keep raising the prices.

I was a MetLife customer that got switched to Farmers. What a nightmare. They canceled my policy (after 20 years and not one claim) because I supposedly had “excessive debris” on my property. No clue what that could be about. Then when I called customer service it was all about my mortgage lender not paying my bill. Another load of nonsense. I wouldn’t do business with them if they offered me a free year of home insurance. They’ve lost a customer for life.

The title should be; "ALL AMERICAN COMPANIES S%UCK." to be honest about it. Used to not be this way, years ago you could get good service, decent prices, ZERO deception. Those days are OVER, sadly. As the regulatory agencies in this gulag don't work, probably never did work ever...corporations have the ability to run roughshod over the poor sheeple who have no choice but to be corralled into the abattoir chute to the needle gun..fleeced, ripped off, corn-holed without the obligatory 'reach arounds' ever. My experience with Farmer's is about 'master BAIT and SWITCH' fun. Quotes a decent price, then at the end the; "uh oh, I forgot to add on THIS and THIS and THIS and THIS TOO!" raising the price by 25 percent or so. After they saw my home on web based indices with crisp clear photos both inside and out, they still, after closing the deal after I rejected the AUTO extortion, I get a VM from a company saying they are coming to take photos outside again. I wrote to the immediate agent who responded once I was on board with the HOME policy, twice, and NO ANSWER. Today I got a polite reply from the agent who took this over, and I told him; "uh, no...I'm going to move the coverage soon as I can, the ink won't even be dry by the time I get this moved.." He was nice, but his company, like ALL companies here in this gulag, is disreputable, dishonest, tacky, and no more or less than a mafia operation without the 'better' customer service you get when you pay off THUGS to provide protection for you with the mafia. :( Is 'Buy The Farm'ers' any worse than the rest? Probably not. They all drain donkey pitot tubes without blinking an eye! Sorry, Farmers, you get the ubiquitous 'HOOVER' award for the suction. Thanks, but NO THANKS!

Farmers Insurance wanted to raise my rate by 74.37% in one year without any explanation. (from $913 to 1592), I never filed a claim and always pay my bills on time. When I called John Nava he could not detail how they arrive at that charge.

Apperntly if you rear end another vehicle that is legally stopped, you can claim that you were rear ended yourself and it pushed you into the other vehicle. And it was a hit and run. You won't have to pay for the other persons damage

Farmers Insurance charged me a $106 penalty to cancel my auto policy with them and claimed it was due to North Carolina law. Absolutely awful the way they treated me on the phone, making me wait over an hour to figure out why I was being charged. My GF cancelled from Geico at the same time and did not receive any penalty. I also have cancelled with Erie without penalty. They would not provide any one-time waiver or any other concession at all. Shame on you Farmers. I will never use your services again. Why would a company do this knowing they will lose the customer forever?
