In 1928, two men shared a dream of providing a quality insurance product at a reasonable price. In the decades that followed we’ve grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of Americans. But one constant has remained: We have an unwavering commitment to uphold our founding ideals to provide industry-leading products and first-rate services to the customers we’re privileged to serve.Different Eras, Same Exceptional ServiceFarmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans. In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you.Today, the companies comprising the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies make up one of the country's largest insurers of vehicles, homes and small businesses and provide a wide range of other insurance and financial services products.Farmers is proud to serve more than 10 million households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 21,000 employees. The Farmers Exchanges are three reciprocal insurers (Farmers Insurance Exchange, Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange) owned by their policyholders, and together with their subsidiaries and affiliates comprise the Farmers Insurance Gr

This company is nothing but about scamming you and taking your money!! They raise your premium without your knowledge after paying for your insurance in advance, then cancel your policy ahead of time to try and charge you extra $$. Then when you try to get your refund, they lie and cheat you, then have the gall to try and start up a new policy. It's sickening when their commercials claim their all about honesty, their NOT!!!! Worst insurance company ever!!!

I hope this company is as aggressive to settle claims as they are trying to get you to purchase a policy. Their policy prices are higher than a lot of others. An agent called me I told him no thanks I found lower rates I'm no longer looking. Then 3 more agents called, I block them they've called from 6 different numbers in 3days! Yea, I can register on 'do not call' registry, but why? If ppl say no why call back from other numbers? If a customer wants your service they'll call you, there's no need to harass ppl, that'll upset them & cause them to dislike your company! It's kinda sad this has to be explained!

Cancelled all policies
Cancelled all policies and they still debited our account 2 days later. No HELP on issues. Could not get a credit right away but sure they could debit account ASAP. Had to wait a week for a check.

Farmers Insurance seriously needs to…
Farmers Insurance seriously needs to rethink its advertising strategy. The commercials featuring the repetitive “bum ba-dum bum bum bum bum” jingle are played so frequently that they have gone from being recognizable to genuinely irritating.
I understand the purpose of creating a memorable brand sound, but there is a point where repetition works against you. In my case, these commercials have become so annoying that they have actually created a negative impression of the company. Rather than making me remember Farmers when I need insurance, they make me want to avoid the brand altogether.
Advertising should make potential customers interested in doing business with you—not reach for the mute button every time your commercial comes on. Based purely on how relentlessly these ads are repeated, I would not consider Farmers Insurance when shopping for coverage.
I could make a better commercial in five minutes with ai...

I cannot recommend Farmers Insurance…
I cannot recommend Farmers Insurance after the way my homeowners claim has been handled.
For months, I have dealt with delays, unanswered emails, unresolved supplements, and representatives who stop responding when asked to support their decisions. This includes my adjuster, the Farmers mitigation negotiator, the Wardlaw representative involved in the review, and supervisors I contacted for help.
My contractors provided photographs, estimates, invoices, mitigation records, and explanations. The evidence includes standing water, soaked flooring, wet insulation, contaminants, and additional damage discovered during repairs. Farmers still disputes the Category 2 mitigation work and valued my laminate flooring at approximately $0.99 per square foot without identifying a comparable replacement.
Farmers also rejected repairs as “upgrades,” “unnecessary,” or “included elsewhere” without providing item-specific evidence or policy language. It then closed my claim while supplements, invoices, engineering questions, and payment disputes remained unresolved.
Most troubling, Farmers issued a check for approximately $14,000 connected to charges from another company that I disputed because the work was not performed. I was left with the understanding that the payment was made because my adjuster did not want to continue dealing with that company. Meanwhile, the mitigation company and contractor who completed documented work on my home are still waiting to be paid.
The final contractor invoice has been submitted, but I still have no payment confirmation or complete written decisions.
I have filed a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance and instructed my attorney to move forward. I am not requesting luxury upgrades. I am asking Farmers to review the evidence fairly, pay reasonable and necessary covered costs, explain its decisions, and respond to legitimate questions.
This is not the claim support I expected after paying my premiums.

Farmers and crooked go together.
My brother was a victim of flooding in Reynoldsburg Ohio last week. He has had Farmers Insurance for 35 years. The adjuster offered him not even a dime. He had backup coverage due to sewer backup. Without a doubt where does storm water go when there is no other place to go---in one's basement. Simply put Farmer Insurance is just another crooked company! Yes I said crooked! Remember all the ads you would see during NFL games and all typed of sports programming "Yes--we paid that" How many times we heard that over and over!! Just the lowest of lows. Avoid them before it is too late and you have a claim!
Again they are crooked as they come---period!

Completely useless app and dangerous lack of service — Left stranded in a parking lot
Farmers Roadside Assistance is completely broken and utterly useless when you actually need it.
I was stranded with my car in a standard, wide-open All Wood Park And Ride parking lot on Allwood Road in Clifton, NJ. When requesting assistance, Farmers sent a link to capture my location. Even after I manually entered the exact parking lot address, their system repeatedly denied my request for service, falsely claiming my vehicle was located on a "restricted highway."
How does an automated dispatch system mistake a massive, accessible retail parking lot for a restricted highway? What was worse, are the agents after I tell them, i'm in a wide open parking lot. All they have to do is google map it. Apparently they only know how to follow the script. Can't think for themselves!
Their location-tracking link and messaging dispatch service are completely defective. What makes this worse is the blatant safety hazard: if I had been stranded late at night on an actual busy highway or in bad weather, Farmers would have simply abandoned me with automated denial messages.
If you pay for roadside assistance expecting reliability and safety in an emergency, look elsewhere. Farmers needs to completely overhaul their useless location service before they leave someone in serious danger.

Don't trust them
Had Farmers home & auto insurance for decades. One claim for hail damage 18 years ago. April 2026 we had 4 inch hailstones which tore up our 18 year old roof. Estimate $21,000+. Farmers weaseled out of $16,000+, a combination of vastly increased deductible which they never told us about, and "depreciation". And denied any recoverable depreciation. They only paid $3,100 on this roof replacement. This company is composed of scam artists. 18 years of premiums and they paid less than 2 years of premiums on my claim. All they want is to take money out of your pocket and give nothing back on a legitimate claim. Yes, I've already dumped them. NEVER trust this company.
