The only thing that I was interested in…
The only thing that I was interested in was a reduction of the interest rate. The agent did an analysis and told me that a lower rate would be negligible and not worth the bother to refinance. I appreciated his honesty.

Overall a good experience
Overall a good experience. Everyone we dealt with was helpful and we were able to access our credit line easily.

The appraiser you sent wasn't familial…
The appraiser you sent wasn't familial with my neighborhood. I feel I had a very low appraisal.i.e. a two bedroom, one bath, no garage (like mine) sold for over 600,000. Hence my displeasure.

Hi Tony, The appraiser is an independent nonaffiliated third party. They do not work for us and due to compliance regulations we do not communicate with them or contract them ourselves. We are not allowed to communicate with them directly, only through another third party so we have no influence on their results. They are certified to inspect and evaluate your property in adherence with FHA guides. Please reach out if there is anything we can do for you in the future.

Ryan Wall provided excellent service.
Ryan Wall provided excellent, honest advice and was extremely prompt in answering any of our questions. We chose another reverse mortgage company who also provided excellent service. Unfortunately, the appraisal value of our home came in at a disappointing low value. Commercially available market value estimates of our home were inflated and inaccurate. That is beyond anyone's control as the selection of an appraiser is an arm's length process and the appraiser can not have any association/affiliation with the mortgage company. We did not proceed with a new reverse mortgage and will wait a year or two until we notice increasing real estate values in our neighborhood. At that point we will try again.

High Interest Rates
I appreciate that Finance America reduced the loan interest rate, but very disappointed they did not reduce the mortgage insurance rate from 1.5% to .05%, which could have been done.
