When I first spoke with I believe the man's name was Troy, I told him I wanted the money to fix the roof and pay off credit cards I used to do other repair jobs. After inspection, I received notice that the floors and carpet needed to replaced or repaired. We intended to replace the carpet anyway. I didn't see anything wrong with the wood floors and your inspector did not mention any of this to me. I have received estimates on the floors and chosen my companies. Now I am told that I will have to pay these companies and upon passing inspection, the money would be released to me. If i had the money to pay for these repairs myself in the first place, I would not have needed to apply for this load.

It seemed like it was the first reverse mortgage these guys have ever done. Way to many requests from underwriting that should have been anticipated. Not at all flexible! Took 6 months to close the loan. When dealing with an elderly person with a handicap a little sympathy and support would go a long way.

My problem with my reverse mortgage was with the appraisal. I was a review appraiser with the City of San Diego for a number of years thus i'm quite familiar with the appraisal process. After reviewing the appraisal of my property, i couldn't believe that the appraiser did not pick up or use the house next door to me as a comparable sale. Come on, its public information! Very recent sale compared to comparables used in his appraisal requiring little adjustment. Some comps used weren't even in the neighborhood. I called the appraiser but he did not return my calls. Needless to say, his omission of this sale affected the value of my property in a negative way. I advised the individual handling my paperwork but nothing was done. I think she was more interested in closing than getting me the maximum amount out of my home. This was a refiance of an existing reverse mortgage. I guess i'll have to wait another 18 months (or whatever the time required is) to get the additional cash out of my home. Hopefully, i'll still be alive! Don't think i'll go with this company again. Closing seemed more important than the maximum cash i was requesting

It seems that when we request a draw on OUR money it requires a lot of jumping through oops to make what should be a simple transaction You sent us a letter of denial sighting our signature was as you put it to blurry to read ! The original request was dated March 21,2017 and this could have been resolved with a simple phone call ! Donna Stanworth
