I just signed up and do not really understand how to use the site fully. However, I look forward to seeing if it is better than Google Flights.

Hi Bill, We are happy to help you understand FareCompare a little better. We are a meta-search site for flights. You can use FareCompare to search specific dates, monitor price fluctuations through email, and explore deals all in one place. If you need assistance, please email us at [email protected] and we will be happy to help! We'd love the opportunity to change your 3-star review into a 5-star! Time waster
FareCompoare may collate and show fares, however when re-directed to the individual websites, the shown far at FareCompare page is not avaiable, this occurs regularly. It is a lot of time wasting to find an actual fare that is available for booking. Ensure you check and compare the actual fare.

Ron, we're sorry for this experience you received. While it only affects roughly 2-3% of bookings, price mismatches are a technical glitch that affect the airline industry in particular. Different reservation systems and airlines handle this concern in different ways, but most only honor the price you're quoted on the booking page. We apologize for the issue and encourage you to wait 24 hours and search again, as these systems generally correct themselves. Also if you have time, please our advice on the cheapest days to fly and best time to buy airfare: https://www.farecompare.com/travel-advice/tips-from-air-travel-insiders/ Safe travels, FareCompare

Hello Gina, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are so sorry that you have had this experience. Our emails do send the cheapest available flights but because of demand and flight purchases made by other customers, not all flights/prices are available for an extended amount of time. The best thing to do is to be ready to purchase as soon as you see the deal or price alert email. If you ever need any assistance, please email us at [email protected]. I’m not sure it was the best. I’d like more user friendly options. Such as suggestions if change departure date or thus airport is close options.

Good guide but not always accurate.
It's a good guide but often the prices that I click through to don't correspond to the prices in the FareCompare email, so it feels like I'm wasting time.
