BEWARE- SCAM
My experience with FactoryOfficial has been similar to the rest of the reviews on this site-- absolutely terrible. I have never had so much trouble with a customer service representative in my entire life. I ordered a camera lens from the site and received an email shortly after stating that I needed to call the customer service line to verify my credit card information and purchase. Upon talking to the customer service rep, he told me I had ordered the "film" version and if I was going to be using the lens for digital work, I would need to pay $200 more for the digital lens. I told him I would be using the lens on my Canon Rebel t4i, so he changed my order over the phone. The price of the lens was still cheaper than what Canon or any REPUTABLE dealer sells them for, so I (stupidly) agreed to let them change my order. I received the lens about a week or so later. Once I received the lens, I took it to a local camera shop to verify it's authenticity; as the package it came in was NOT Canon packaging. For all I knew, I could have overpaid for a refurbished lens. The man at the camera store assured me this was not going to be covered by any sort of Canon warranty and advised me to return the product. Upon calling to return my product, I was hung up on multiple times, put on hold for over 40 minutes at a time, and talked down to by the same man who now claims he has never spoken to me before. Regardless, I told them I needed to return the product. They gave me a return code to use and informed me that there would be a 15% restocking fee. I was angry about the restocking fee because that was never explained to me upon purchasing, but at that point, it would have been worth it to pay the fee and be done with this company, so I agreed to the restocking fee. I packaged the lens and sent it to the address the rude customer service rep provided me. I wrote a note about the service I had received along with the return code and specifically noted that this was a return, not an exchange. Days later, I got a message saying they have received my package, but needed to verify credit card information before processing my return. When I called to confirm my information for my return, the man told me I did not send the 15% restocking fee with my package-- which I was NEVER instructed to do. He then told me they would need it in a money order and to make it out to a company called "Digital" instead of FactoryOfficial. I told him I did not feel comfortable doing this and asked if they could make an adjustment on my card. He was very rude and told me "that's not how this works and if you have a problem with that file a dispute." Now I need to go get a money order for $99 to send to the company "Digital" in hopes that they actually refund my original order-- or file a dispute with my credit card company. I will never make the mistake of purchasing from FactoryOfficial ever again. I am exploring my options as far as filing a claim against the company, but won't be able to talk to someone today. This is absolutely a scam designed to sell gray market products. PLEASE beware before making a purchase at FactoryOfficial. They are such a waste of time and money.
