I have been using Ezidebit for the past 5 years, when the S!!t was hitting the fan with Covid 19, our backs are up against the wall to provide a great service online. Which we have managed to do, our customers are pumped. We then find out all of our Direct Debits have been stopped by Ezidebit. To date they have provided no legal documentation to show they can. Totally useless. I will be leaving as soon as we are out of this mess. I want to see the legal proof that they can be holding on to our customers money without passing it on. Our customers are furious.

Hi David, Thanks for reaching out. Ezidebit made the decision to place a temporary suspension on settlements for businesses that were still taking payments from customers on or after 23 March, as they were at an increased risk of breaching Australian Competition and Consumer (ACCC) regulations around fees for no service. We communicated with our impacted clients and worked with them to ensure all guidelines around changing business models were met in line with government restrictions. Services for the majority of our impacted clients were reinstated within 24 hours. We’re sorry your business was impacted by the suspension on settlements. If you need to contact us about your account, please reach out to our support team on 1300 763 256 or [email protected]. Thank you, Sophie M. from Ezidebit

Got all set up for the lockdown in New Zealand, moved my clients online, even heard debit success (rival company) were cancelling payments and so I enquired wirh ezidebit to see if this was the case. Then later on, turned out they weren’t collecting payments and were all their businesses. Never recommended.

Ezidebit made the decision to place a temporary suspension on settlements for businesses that were still taking payments from customers on or after 23 March, as they were at an increased risk of breaching Australian Competition and Consumer (ACCC) regulations around fees for no service. Suspended all direct debits for gyms nationwide with no warning, no options and absolutely no legislative authority. While gym owners are working around the clock to move their classes and offerings online, Ezidebit took the decision to simply stop all payments from all members. Totally unacceptable!

I absolutely loathe and detest these kind of companies. Any company that implements a dishonour fee is a joke. Especially a $22 dishonour fee! Unbelievable. The fee gets taken, and your account gets debited just the same in a day or two. The provider still gets their payment regardless. But do they get the dishonour fee? Of course not! Ezidebit does. Theres no warning, or chance to just sign in to an app and pay it manually like many other companies permit (afterypay). Just an immediate excessive penalty. Avoid at all costs, merchant and client. Afterpay should bring something out like this soon and this company can go bankrupt.

Hi Kyle, Thanks for your feedback. There are costs associated with processing payments and retrying failed payments. Billing days are controlled by the business you have the direct debit agreement with, so we suggest reaching out to them in the future to change when the payment comes out of your account to a day that’s more suitable for you. The dishonour fee is stated in the direct debit agreement you authorised when you signed up with the business for their services. Please reach out to our support team on 1300 763 256 or [email protected] if you’d like to discuss this further. Best regards, Sophie M. from Ezidebit
