Thank you for sharing your feedback Agnes. We are disheartened to hear you weren't fully satisfied with your liveaboard experience on Caribbean Explorer II. This vessel, in particular, is the most economical in the fleet so we are surprised to hear a complaint about costs. In fitting with liveaboard customs, we suggest gratuity of 15-20% of the regular package price but the actual amount is entirely at the guest’s discretion. Hi Trent, we're sorry to hear you were less than satisfied with your liveaboard holiday. All our package inclusions and exclusions are listed clearly on our website. Guests also receive this information at the time of booking, so it is unfortunate that you felt they were hidden charges. We hope it didn't mar your otherwise fun experience on Turks & Caicos Explorer II.

After dealing with covid for the past 3 years we’ve found that no set policy works for all situations, but we’ll research how it was dealt with on that particular trip and see if we could have done better. We hope we’ll have the opportunity to dive with you again.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your Feb 16, 2023 trip to the Maldives. It prompted us to reach out to your dive shop for further insight. We're disappointed to read about your experience—this isn’t what we want for our guests at all! Unfortunately, the airlines don’t always give us what we ask for. Specialty itineraries that visit remote areas are meant for the adventurous at heart, both because the diving and marine life are far from ordinary and because getting there and back sometimes presents some extra challenges, like your trip. While we communicated details from the local airlines as quickly as we received information, flight times for your group did not turn out to be ideal. We did take extraordinary steps to ensure your group didn't incur extra expenses because of the airline's problems and did our best to make things comfortable for your group. Unfortunately this appears to not be enough. In regards to the menu, lunch and dinner is typically comprised of sides plus a main option like chicken/beef, and a locally caught fresh Tuna or other Maldivian fresh fish options which helps support the local economy. We are sorry to hear you were less than satisfied with these choices. It is an uncommon instance. As you can see on our many other Trustpilot reviews, we are known for great customer service and quality of our liveaboard holidays. Specialty itineraries that visit remote areas are meant for the adventurous at heart, both because the diving and marine life are far from ordinary and because getting there and back sometimes present some extra challenges. While we communicated details as quickly as we received information from the local airline, flights for your group did not go as smoothly as they usually do. We can't control airline scheduling and this was out of our hands, however we did take extraordinary steps to ensure your group didn't incur extra expenses because of the airline's scheduling. Lastly, we've heard your concerns regarding the meals so we spoke to the chef. He (and your Aggieland group leader) confirmed the menu was comprised of a locally caught fresh Tuna (and other Maldivian fresh fish options), plus a main option like chicken or beef, with a number of side dishes. Hi Cyrill, Thank you for sharing your concerns. We always strive to provide amazing service and we're sorry that we didn't hit the mark for you. Please give us an opportunity to clarify a few items. 1. Each cabin on the vessel is cleaned dutifully every day. Our staff have said they did not notice a smell during cleanings. We would have immediately resolved any issue if we had known, but the complaint was not raised until checkout. 2. All the guests aboard your charter were fully certified divers and were free to explore underwater in their own buddy teams. Typically, this means only half the guests actually follow the dive guide(s). 3. The primary in-water responsibility of the dive staff is to point out interesting creatures, not as a buddy. Each guest should dive in their own buddy team as mentioned above. 4. We encourage all skills/abilities to enjoy scuba diving and cannot control when someone books a holiday. We also do our best to meet each individual's specific needs. When this person arrived on onboard, they notified us they required more assistance, so we put an additional divemaster in the water to provide a little extra help during the week. That said, while diving with a buddy isn’t optional, guests are asked to buddy with another diver or divers of their choice. It sounds as if there may have been a misunderstanding resulting in an unwanted buddy diving with the two of you. We are sorry if this caused any discomfort for you - hopefully it does not tarnish your Caribbean diving memories!
