We had an awful experience booking our travel through Expedia. We booked a flight to Atlanta from California to visit my 94 year old mom on December 16th, 2024 who is about to go to heaven. They were the least expensive option so we booked the tickets through them. Little did we know that one of the tickets was a waitlisted ticket which they did not tell us on their site. We even received confirmation that our trip was confirmed after we paid for the trip. Therefore, my wife did not have a confirmed ticket since it was a waitlisted ticket and therefore we had to go directly to the airlines and pay extra money to confirm her seat. Their customer service department was not helpful and gave us some options that were ridiculous. My advice, stay away from Expedia even if it is a less expensive option, you may not have a confirmed ticket. In the long run, you will pay more. We are baffled that they can get away with selling tickets on airlines that are waitlisted and not even tell you that they are? I call this fraud.
