Expedia made a mistake with my name on the booking and then pressured me to accept their false fees because JetBlue was on the line. They insisted I pay $102 to fix the name, but JetBlue confirmed no such fee exists and fixed it without any problem. Expedia also threatened to cancel my ticket with a $150 penalty, despite me booking within the 24-hour full refund window. Their constant pressure felt like a scam, forcing me to accept their terms unfairly. This kind of behavior is unacceptable — it feels like dealing with thieves. JetBlue was professional and helpful, but Expedia lost my trust completely. Never again.

THE WORST! WOULDN'T RECCOMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY!!
Normally I use booking.com & have never had issues with them. Decided to give Expedia a shot and that was a terrible mistake that almost ruined our trip. We booked a hotel that looked nothing like the pics on their site in real life. The place was uncomfortable and falling apart. We asked the hotel management if we could leave early and he said yes but we had to talk to Expedia for the refund. They said no they can't do anything on their end and kept saying how they "wished they could help". So patronizing. In the end, we spoke to management again and he gave us a refund and told us Expedia makes the relationship between customers and businesses very difficult. Like playing a game of phone tag where each person hears something different. I deleted my Expedia account and will NEVER use them again nor will I recommend to family or friends for future travel.

Customer service
Customer service - non existent. Have to navigate through a ridiculous number of questions to narrow down to why you are calling and even then it is not why I am calling. "Never" can speak to a live-agent. The chat works "sometimes" and even then you can't get a question answered. I'm done. Once we get through this trip I'm done with Expedia. Unreliable, waste of time.

Avoid this rip off merchant
Rented a car from Thrifty through Expedia. Paid 2/3 of the estimated price to Expedia. When I picked up the car, the remaining portion was 4 times what Expedia has estimated. Ask Thrifty why and they say they don't know anything about Expedia. Ask Expedia and they blame Thrifty. Avoid the aggravation by avoiding Expedia. I'll never use them again.

Frustrated and Furious
Expedia customer service is easy to contact, the problem is that they have no interest in helping you if you have a problem with a booking or a credit your are trying to use on a booking. We had a$46 dollar credit they gave us to use but we were unable to apply it to our any booking and just got the run around from customer service. One hotel in particular we tried to use our credit on they said they couldn't find the hotel in their system but I had the hotel on my phone screen under Expedia. We asked to speak with a manager and the manager told us she couldn't see the hotel on her computer screen. After about 20 min. of arguing back and forth we said we wanted to speak to her boss and suddenly she found the hotel we were looking at online.
We were told that they couldn't book the room for us if we wanted to redeem our credit, that we had to do it ourselves. Again when we asked to speak with the managers boss she magically was able to book our room and redeem our credit. The only thing you will get from this company is Aggravation. I will never use or recommend Expedia to anyone. In the future I will book hotels thru an alternate site. Consumer Beware.

I booked a flight through Expedia
I booked a flight through Expedia, had to cancel due to medical emergency. I purchased the insurance for this flight. They said I wouldn't get my money back for 1-2 billing cycles. WTF that's two months! When i hit submit to purchase my flight you all took the money right away. But when it comes to refund it 1-2 months! Unacceptable! Pissed is an understatement!

I recently booked a trip to Vietnam…
I recently booked a trip to Vietnam through Expedia, choosing China Airlines for my flights. The flight experience was excellent, but the hotel situation through Expedia was a disaster. I originally booked Saigon Sirius, rated 9.6 out of 10 on their site. However, upon arrival in Vietnam, I was mysteriously downgraded to a hotel called River Garden, which barely deserves 2 stars.
Being a frequent traveler, I book hotels based on past experiences and expected Expedia to ensure my reservations were honored. Unfortunately, their customer service was abysmal, deserving a mere 0.5 out of 10. Despite sending photos and explaining the situation, I encountered the same template responses from seven different representatives. Frustratingly, some emails even had unchanged template names.
The environment at River Garden was unsettling, prompting me to check out within hours, but Expedia took no responsibility and showed no concern for my safety. Although I checked out immediately, I received no refund and was charged for the full price of a stay at a hotel I didn’t even book.
Ultimately, I had to book a new hotel with a similar 9.6 rating, incurring an additional $900 cost due to what I perceive as a bait-and-switch tactic on Expedia’s part. After filing my complaints, I plan to delete my Expedia account and would advise others to think twice before using their service. The lack of accountability and poor customer support makes it impossible for me to recommend Expedia to anyone.
