Everand just sucks.
Alexander G.
I can not change anything, when listening to audiobooks. This was not the case before, so I guess the problem was created in a previous update. I also had to update my payment at least 3 times in the last weeks. Will cancel very soon, if I see no improvements. I heard audible also provides a lot of audiobooks, and I can live without the eBooks, if the experience stays as terrible as it is now. In the past the app was quite good. I think they will lose a lot of paying customers.

Everand used to be a great reading platform, but now with the premium catalog, and limited unlocks per month it is no longer a great deal. Will be exiting at the end of my current subsription.

They are not canceling my subscription and have little way to contact them. Horrible platform and service. Sounds like a scam I fell into

I’ve been a loyal Everand user for years, but the platform has changed significantly for the worse. When I first joined, subscriptions allowed unlimited reading. That was later reduced to three books per month, and now my current plan provides virtually no access to popular titles unless I upgrade to the new higher-priced $24.99 plan for just three books. Most well-known titles are now locked behind the more expensive tier. Unfortunately, Everand feels far more focused on upselling than on providing value to long-term subscribers.

Hey Mel, We appreciate you taking the time to share your honest feedback on our new plans. Our decision to change the system was not made lightly. We’ve heard from many in our community about the need for more transparency and a broader selection of bestselling and new release titles. The new unlock system aims to provide more control and predictability, so you can select the books you want without those unexpected restrictions. We'd also like to clarify that when you've used your unlocks for the month, you can still access a variety of titles in our unlimited catalog. Of course, if you need assistance locating more content to read, we're here to help so don't hesitate to reach out to us using this link: http://bit.ly/social-support-help. We're truly sorry if the new plans aren't quite the right fit, but we hope you'll give us another chance. Thank you! -MW

I used to subscribe to Everand for years, in spite of its poor quality app and inferior choice of audiobooks. However, I could always find something to listen to. Now with the subscription hike and listening constraints, it is simply not competitive against other services, which have superior quality and choices, and at lower price. Whoever made this decision should be sacked! I am about to cancel my subscription.

Feel ripped off! I used to love this platform, despite its weaknesses. It's now confusing, deceptive and poor value for money. I upgraded and find the so called benefits not worth it. Time to find another audiobook provider.

Everand (Scribd) used to be THE BEST. Then they apparently had a meeting about how they could best squeeze more money out of their customers for less content. And, lo and behold, the “unlock” monster was born. My husband and I have been on the legacy subscription, so we’ve been carrying on completely unaware. Until we decided to read a new book together, and suddenly I’m seeing an error message that this new title is only available under the new plan… It took just 30 seconds of reading through these new plans to realize what a slap in the face it is to long-term users. They claim it’s in response to customer complaints about “confusing limits” and “lack of transparency”… so instead of stating plainly that they limit you to 12 books a month (or however much the limit was), they’re answer is to revamp the whole system and screw everyone over all at once. I’m interested to see how long it takes them to realize the depths of their mistake and course correct… but I’ll have to Google them in a year or two to find out, because I certainly won’t be a subscriber anymore.
