I did not recieve a paper copy of my toefl test scores as I paid for, even a month after taking the test. There is no way to talk to them other than through their chatbot, which of course just links to whatever you can already find on the website.

This site is a SCAM. Nothing is ever easy when dealing with this awful company. They advise you to contact someone in customer service when your problems persist.....but good luck with that because you'll end up being on hold for hours on end. I was supposed to take the Praxis test today, but I was never able to connect to a proctor. My laptop passed all of the system requirements, but, for some reason, I could not get past the final step to connect to a proctor. I have no expectations of getting my money back. This is the third time I have had an issue with this site. Universities really need to dig deep and find another avenue for test-taking because this site is nothing but a headache for people.

Chats, emails, calls are all responded by automated messages. Some of the automated messages is even in that poor English, I thought it was in mandarin…. No person ever answers a phone. I requested day time, I was presented with 12AM…..and of course refused a reschedule or refund. This is a scam….

Literally, is anyone even employed in their customer service department? I have been trying to schedule my state-certification test in Social Studies Content Knowledge since 7/11. However, when I go to pay for the test I am trying to schedule, the payments won't go through. I have tried multiple debit/credit cards, calling my bank to make sure none of these charges are being held up as "fraudulent," tried paying from multiple devices, tried paying from different IP addresses, tried paying on Firefox, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge, and have cleared all my cache/cookies from each browser. To no avail. Want to use their online chat customer service? Can't, my ticket is cancelled the moment I submit it because "there is no one available" to help me. Want to send an e-mail? Unfeasible, my ticket is in and I'm supposed to wait 5-7 business days for a response. Want to call their customer service hotline? I did too, every day, and have been on hold for an hour+. Of course I've hung up because I have other obligations to take care of. As of this moment, I have been on hold for an 1 hour and 20 minutes, even on the day their own robot customer service liaison says is best to call (which is Thursdays). Absolutely unreal. Don't get me wrong, non-profits serve good functions a lot of the time, but the fact that the entire United States has allowed this abhorrently managed non-profit to organize any and all state certification tests is obviously not working. My best guess is, they pay so terribly that no one wants to work there. Then again, how could everyone be paid so poorly when the numbers of teaching students needing certification tests is still high, and hence, ETS is making their money. Is this a fever dream?

Shameful company. This whole test business is a massive scam, draining huge amounts of money for an extremely poor service. I sincerely hope universities around the world will quickly stop requiring us to take part in this unacceptable rip-off. There are better ways to evaluate someone's language skills than this scam.

Terrible service. Paid well over 300 usd for a test, internet based, and something went wrong with the log in. I expected this and contacted ETS/TOEFL beforehand, which didn’t give me any help. Luckily I got in contact with the customer service of ProctorU (in charge of the platform where the test is taken) the minute I figured out that there was something wrong, and they managed to help me within the 15 minutes you have to get a successful log in. When contacting ETS customer service about this later, they have by no means acted helpful or given any explanation. For the price of their services, this is unacceptable in my view. It could be counted as taking advantage of exposed individuals (many who take the test are looking for a better future; at a college or workplace in another country). And just to make it clear; this review was in no way impacted by the final results of my test

I took the Toefl Home Edition Test. After two hours there was a break and I had to go on toilette. There was no possibility to chat with an proctor or to talk with someone to ask so I had to go. When I came back they just kicked me out without any statement and possibility to explain. 260$ were away and since three weeks they don`t take response to my mails. Take other serious tests like Duolingo. They´re not disorganized and expensive like TOEFL. Rip-off artists!!
