Absolutely Unacceptable — Years of Paying for Services That Were Never Performed. I would give Empire Tax Professionals zero stars if that were an option. For years, I paid Empire Tax Professionals to handle critical tax-related services, trusting that the work I was paying for was actually being completed. Unfortunately, I have since discovered that was not the case. The consequences have been an absolute nightmare. Their failures and lack of accountability have resulted in countless fines and penalties from both federal and state tax agencies. What should have been routine, properly managed work has instead turned into an ongoing disaster that I am now having to spend an enormous amount of time, money, and personal effort trying to unravel. The most infuriating part is that I was paying them year after year under the assumption that these responsibilities were being handled. I now have to spend additional money and countless hours correcting problems that should never have existed in the first place. This isn't simply poor customer service or a minor administrative mistake. When Empire Tax Professionals accepts payment to perform critical tax-related services and those responsibilities aren't properly carried out, the consequences can be financially devastating for the customer. I am still dealing with the fallout, and the cost of correcting these mistakes continues to increase. At this point, I am seeking legal counsel to determine the full extent of the damages and pursue recovery of the costs and losses resulting from these failures. If you're considering using Empire Tax Professionals, I strongly recommend doing your due diligence and making absolutely certain that the services you're paying for are actually being performed. Keep records of everything, verify filings independently, and don't make the mistake of assuming that because you're paying a company, the work is necessarily being done. Years of payments. Empire has 9+ Yelp profiles under varying aliases to dilute and hide a decade-long pattern of deceptive practices, negative business reviews, and a 1-star overall actual company rating. They currently have an active NYC court case against them for deceptive practices. ​I hired this firm based on marketing promising "All Under One Roof" CFO services (monthly bookkeeping, payroll, tax planning, tax strategy, and tax returns). They billed aggressively but delivered virtually none of the promised work product. Payroll was never set up, quarterly filings were neglected, there was never any tax planning or strategy, tax returns were never completed, and my files were left in total disarray. ​The Upcharge Trap: After a $5,000 deposit on August 27, 2025, I received my regular $1,000 monthly fee for September just days later, followed by an additional $1000 UPCHARGE later the same month to complete the already promised and agreed upon work. However nothing was done, not even a welcome onboarding email until 30+ days later,  and $7,000 in collected fees. ​Despite our onboarding call and paperwork laying out my needs prior to receiving a monthly cost, they continued demanding unjustified fees of $2,000, $1000, $500, and $250. Charges covered under our agreed upon contract and onboarding. Do not fall for this trap. You are paying them to keep upcharging you, only to deliver defective work, no work at all, or halt all work product unless their unexpected and unagreed upcharges are paid. ​Unless you are ready to pay Rachel $10,000 for defective services, and then an additional $10,000 to $100,000 in legal fees to recover your $10,000 investment, look elsewhere immediately. The decade-long public record shows this is a business model rather than a one-time event. ​When I terminated the relationship for cause, the situation severely escalated: ​The QuickBooks Lockout: They intentionally held my business financial records hostage, and ignored four formal, USPS-tracked written demands for my records. ​Unauthorized Post-Termination Access: Software audit logs proved their team continued accessing my private corporate financial data after termination until I forcefully overrode their access. ​Gross Factual Discrepancy: They generated a baseless $100,000 tax liability estimate with zero supporting documentation. A certified professional had to reconstruct my books from scratch, ultimately filing a correct return roughly 80% lower than Empire's arbitrary figure. That's $80,000 in savings by switching away from CFOCall Tax Service. ​LAWSUIT UPDATE (July 2026): I have filed a formal lawsuit against Empire Tax Professionals. ​The "Ghost Office": When the Court attempted to serve the official legal summons to Empire's publicly advertised headquarters, the official mail was returned stamped "Return to Sender -- Undeliverable/Vacant." It proves they are using a fake physical address. ​Rejected Lowball Settlements: They attempted to settle this dispute with lowball offers of $3,000 and $3,500 tied to strict non-disparagement orders. I rejected both. ​Retaliatory Deception: On July 13, 2026, Rachel bypassed my legal counsel and texted me directly in a bad-faith attempt to pressure me into deleting my review. I declined. Immediately, Ms. Michaelov launched a coordinated, fraudulent review campaign to bury my warning. Prior to this day, the business had not received a single public review in over six months, let alone a positive one. ​ ​The owner publicly admitted on April 26, 2026, that she has operated her company in "chaos mode". Instead of learning from their mistakes and making customers whole, this business resorts to constantly changing names and creating dozens of misleading profiles to dilute complaints. They are relying on the assumption that small businesses lack the $10k required to hold them accountable in court.

Service so bad I turned down multiple FREE months. This company has cost me thousands due to their gross negligence, mistakes, inaccuracies, unexpected (and at times, unexplained) charges, unnecessary delays, empty promises, unanswered questions, unresponsive emails, and more. Don't make the mistake I did - avoid Empire at all costs.

Empire Tax Professionals' fraudulent practices, including hidden fees, unexplained charges, and inflated rates, demonstrate a complete disregard for the well-being of their clients. Instead of providing transparent and reliable tax services, they appear to prioritize their own financial gain. This behavior is not only unethical but also contributes to the perpetuation of a system that exploits vulnerable workers. Moreover, when I attempted to address my concerns with Empire Tax Professionals, their customer service proved to be dismissive and unhelpful. This lack of accountability and professionalism only further reinforces the troubling nature of their business practices. It is disheartening to witness such callousness and a refusal to acknowledge the impact their actions have on both clients and society at large. In light of these revelations, I strongly advise individuals to exercise caution when considering Empire Tax Professionals for their tax needs.
