Our goal is to help anyone living with a mental or emotional disability find comfort and support through a service dog or emotional support animal and learn how their relationship with their support animal can help them live a healthier, more independent, and happier life.The mental health crisis in the United States has reached alarming levels; in fact, more than 1 in 5 Americans live with a mental illness, and around 16% of Americans are on mental health medications, many of which come with dangerous side effects, may not be covered by insurance, and often don’t improve related issues like loneliness or a lack of purpose.Emotional support animals and psychiatric service dogs have scientifically proven benefits on mental health and general wellness for both adults and children. Adding a support animal to a mental health treatment plan can help reduce reliance on medications, may be more affordable than other treatment options, and can provide companionship and motivation. Plus, ESAs and service dogs are legally required to be able to live with you in nearly all long-term rental housing options, including most apartments and college dorms.
