We are sorry to hear that you experienced a medical emergency while traveling, as situations like yours is exactly why our services exist and we understand the stress and emotional toll these circumstances can take on everyone involved. We would like to respectfully clarify that this situation was not related to individuals having different last names. It is standard procedure to confirm membership eligibility prior to providing services, which these requirements are set forth in the EA+ plan's terms and conditions. When both the last names and addresses on the driver's license do not match, we require proof of co-habitation, as defined in the Spouse/Domestic Partnership description. Throughout the process, our assistance team made multiple attempts to obtain documentation that would satisfy this requirement, and we attempted to make the process as flexible as possible. Since the information on the driver's license did not match, we requested a simple document, such as a phone bill or mail piece, to confirm a shared residence and complete the verification process. From the information that was made available to us, we were unable to secure this information. Our team was on standby prepared to coordinate transport upon confirmed eligibility, and an executive leader also personally reached out to explain what was needed and reaffirm our willingness to move forward with transportation once a proper document proving cohabitation at the shared residence could be confirmed. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response or the documentation. We recognize that these conversations took place during an extremely difficult time, and we sincerely regret any frustration this caused. Our mission is to provide support when members need it most, while also ensuring that services are administered fairly and consistently for all members according to the terms of the plan. If you would like to discuss the details any further, please reach out to us directly so that we may address any concerns you may have. Thank you, Your EA+ Team

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're pleased to hear that the arrangements for your return home and the support provided by the accompanying nurse met your expectations. We understand your concerns regarding communication with the medical providers caring for you abroad. Navigating healthcare systems across different countries, languages, and practices can be complex which is why we have multi-language support during these times. Our goal is to coordinate with the least amount of friction possible, for both our members and the care teams. We value hearing your perspective on how the travel arrangements could have better aligned with your experience and expectations. We understand that is quite a long trip; we always attempt to arrange the most direct and appropriate transportation that prioritizes the member's medical needs, safety and comfort. Thank you again for your feedback, we have shared your comments with our team. We wish you safe travels in the future and are here for you should you ever need us in the future. Sincerely, Your EA+ Team
