I was charged a one time fee for my son…
I was charged a one time fee for my son and me. This was at the Grand Hotel Lynchburg in Lynchburg, VA. I was even charged for the tel. call. I had issues of noise in the middle of the night, two nights in a row, in the room next door to me. I had the Security Guard check it out both times, Nothing. When it came to check out, I was going to pay cash for our stay, but they had already charged and billed me through my credit card without my permission. I did not receive a receipt from them, so I did not know what I got charged until I got back home. The guy that I made a reservation with told me that the cost was $88.00 per night times 3 nights, plus the same for my son who also was to have a room. The total cost this guy informed me of was $596.28 . Okay. But once I made the reservation, I only had until May 9th to cancel, as I had made the Reservation like the first part of May. Okay, I'm all set. Yes you are he said. AS I was checking out, I explained about the 2 bad nights that I had issues with and they had promised to pay me back $150.00 . But they never gave me back the money. Instead, when I got home, I found out that the Hotel people had charged me $770.36 to my Discover card. I filed a Dispute with my Discover card people. The people at the Hotel wrote down expenses to me that if I did not cancel, that my cost was $188.00 per night instead of $88.00 per night. If you figure that all out -- That is $188. X 3 nights is $564.00 for one person,. but I had Richard's room and again, the same fee. You double the price and that is $1528. 00 . Now who can be trusted ? And yet they promised to pay me back $150.00 for those 2 nights because of the situation that I went through. My son and the desk clerk went in that room that morning before we left and found out that someone had been in that room, candy wrappers and chip bgs. and a big bottle full of you know what as the bathroom was out of order. UGH! Well, I'm still dealing with the Dispute with that Hotel as they had sent papers showing the whole situation which was way out of whack and nothing but lies. You think I would just love to stay there again????! No thank you. I feel in a sense that I won, because I was charged $760. to my card, compared to the whole cost that these Hotel people claimed, $1528. So if that is what they claimed, then I won even though I didn't get my $150. back. 05/17 through to when we checked out 05/20, 2026. I was there for my Granddaughter's graduation . Everything we did while there was okay, all except the bad experience at the hotel. I'm not here for any money. I was simply telling of my bad experience. I met another person there who also was not happy with that Hotel. Deanna D
