Very poor customer experience
I wanted to share my experience with Elfbeads because I was genuinely excited to try them as an alternative to Pandora, especially with Pandora moving away from so much of its SS. I placed an order during their 40% off sale and received four beads. In all fairness, two of the beads looked exactly like the photos online, and I was very happy with those. But honestly, that almost makes the other two more concerning, because it clearly shows that they are capable of producing beads that closely resemble the photographs on the website The other two beads I received looked absolutely nothing like what was pictured on the website. The color was completely different from what was shown and described online. I understand that these are handmade glass beads and that some variation is to be expected, but there is a huge difference between natural variation and receiving something that bears no color resemblance to the product being sold That is where this started to feel like a bit of a bait-and-switch to me. I reached out multiple times and ultimately offered what I thought was a very reasonable solution: I would pay to ship the beads back myself and would even accept store credit instead of a refund. They still refused to do anything because the items were purchased during a final-sale event and all items can vary as they are handmade. To me, “final sale” should not mean that a company can send an item that looks substantially different from what was advertised and then completely wash its hands of the situation. What bothers me most is the inflexibility. This could have been resolved so easily. I was not demanding anything unreasonable. I was willing to pay the return shipping, take store credit, and continue purchasing from them. Instead, I now have to dispute the charge through my credit card company, provide photos, submit the email correspondence, and go through an entire process that frankly should never have been necessary. I also had to contact them three separate times before I got a response, which made the entire experience even more frustrating. And this is especially disappointing because I was not looking to make a one-time purchase. I am a very serious jewelry collector. I spend many many thousands a year with Pandora, have somewhere around 100 bracelets and easily 800 charms, plus more rings, earrings, and necklaces than I could even count. I had genuinely hoped Elfbeads could become another brand I regularly purchased from and maybe even transitioned to Unfortunately, that will not be happening. They do make some very beautiful pieces, and as I said, two of the beads I received were exactly as expected. But if there is no reliable quality control and no assurance that the bead pictured is even reasonably representative of what you are going to receive, I personally would not take the chance. At this point, Elfbeads will not receive any more of my business, and I cannot recommend them based on my experience. I really wish this had ended differently, because I went into this excited to discover a new brand. Instead, it turned into a completely unnecessary hassle over something that could have been resolved with a little bit of flexibility and basic customer service. To lose a potential long term customer over $70 is absurd
Response from ElfbeadsSep 2, 2026
Hi Alex, We’re sorry your first email was missed. Elfbeads is a small family business, and treating our customers fairly means applying the same clearly stated terms to everyone. Your beads were purchased at 40% off during our Final Farewell event, which was clearly designated as final sale. Each Elfbeads glass bead is handmade, and variations in color and detail are part of that process. Mila and I personally stand behind the quality of every bead we ship, including the beads you received. They fall within the normal variation of this design. For these reasons, the final-sale terms applied, and we stand by our decision. Victor and Mila Elfbeads
