My 4 star rating is because I'm just not a big fan of feeling like I have silly putty in my ear. I got these because I have sensitive ears and between a yowling cat and my BF snoring I needed something more than foam. I will continue to use these until I can get custom made earplugs which I will ultimately do to alleviate the feeling of goop in my ears.

These are the only earplugs I can use so would highly recommend them.

THE PRODUCT: I have used these earplugs for about 2 years now (several new pairs through the course of the 2 years, not the same pair), and they are wonderful overall, particularly due to the fact that they are made of a material that can be molded by you to fit inside your own ear, no matter the shape. I've always had issues with earplugs that stick out of your ear, as i'm a side-sleepr and it is very annoying when using the average earplug. I find that each set of plugs lasts about 2-3 months maximum, of daily use (i only use them when sleeping, ie dry conditions....never used in wet conditions, ie for swimming etc), and by then, the material shrinks down and dries out quite significantly (even when stored in the plastic container it comes in). I suppose these are minor issues when looking at the larger picture of how effective they are otherwise. SHIPPING ISSUE: Although i have ordered the plugs 3 times to date, recently - the 3rd time - was an issue. I ordered as many as 12 pairs recently. I placed the order on Aug 27 and received them almost 4 weeks later! I find that delay Unacceptable, as the company is in the US and i live in one of Canada's biggest cities (ie, i'm not in a faraway or rural, hard to reach town). I am a very patient person in general, and am certainly not one to call after 3 days and complain etc. I am also always aware that "things happen", etc, so i waited for 10 days before calling to check on my order/delivery. I was told that the order was processed the day i placed the order, but since it was a public holiday in the US on Sep1 (still, that is several days After Aug 27), there was a delay in my earplugs being mailed from their processing center. After i made the call, it took over 15 days to receive. Anyhow, other than that (an inconveniencing issue), the plugs themselves are pretty good. Good luck to everyone using them! Peace.

Good product

I found the ear plugs better than others I have tried. I felt more confident to insert them farther into the ear rather than the gel type ear plugs. They do not block out all the noise but they are effective in reducing noise considerably. They are easy to insert and remove. The downside is that I found them a bit uncomortable to sleep on as there was a lot of plug outside the ear canal. I wanted to make sure \I had enough plug to remove the ear plug but as I have small ears it will take a bit of adjusting.

I got these because I have very small ear canals and the foam earplugs don't work for me. I have on occasion used the silicon earplugs but they made my ear canals sweat. These earplugs did not cause that to happen. They are large and I cut them in half to fit my ears and I used one plug for about three weeks before throwing it out. I used them on a cruise ship. Also, my husband snores. The noise was stiffled enough for me to not to be awakened. I recommend these.

Certainly the most effective earplugs I've ever used. Recommended!

These earplugs do a great job of cancelling out low frequency vibrations, something foam plugs I've used don't quite manage. They also leave a bit of a residue behind, but it seems like it makes it easier on your ear canals - if I understand correctly, they're part lanolin, which is good for your skin.
