Jowana, please follow the below instructions (exactly), and you'll completely change your thinking and possibly be grateful for my effort and instructions: 1. First take ONE ear plug at a time, and (knead or work) it well through your fingers or hands for 15-20 seconds, to make the ear plug (soft and mouldable). Then follow the directions in # 2 2. Push and flatten the softened ear plug, (a bit firmly), IN and AGAINST your ear opening & into your ear canal UNTIL YOU FEEL the ear plug ( SEAL ) your ear canal. YES, It needs to SEAL the ear to block out much. IMPORTANT: If the ear plug doesn't (( SEAL )) immediately, then just keep your finger pressed against it with slight pressure for a few more seconds and it will warm and SEAL PERFECTLY. 3. Now take the other ear plug, and prepare it and insert it (exactly) the same way as the first ear plug. Jowana, now with both ears SEALED, LISTEN TO (( SILENCE )) !!!!!! To remove; simply "pull downward" with the tip of your index finger. It will loosen and easily come out. Dear Jim: "Fairly Well" Whoa!!! On the contrary, THEY'LL BLOCK OUT PHENOMENALLY WELL !!!! Jim, you must insert our (soft and mouldable) Beeswax ear plug to where it SEALS your ear canals TOTALLY. Dear Jamie: "Stopped up my ears"???????????? and "made them pop"????????????????? In all honestly, your comment is (unlike) any other we've ever had in 21 years; so I'm guessing what you saying in your own words; is that YOU COULDN'T HEAR ANYTHING. If that's the case, then the SILENCE was too uncomfortable for you. Jamie, that is possible, for we do hear often from customer's that say our ear plug "blocks out TOO MUCH sound" Regarding popping. Again I'm guessing, but that sounds like decompressing when an airplane is reducing its altitude and dropping and one's ears keep popping. If that's the case, then open your mouth when removing the ear plug. From what we've heard from hundreds of customers; is that an audiologist will charge from $ 200 tp $ 500, and afterwards, like so many, you most likely (( will regret )) the unnecessary expense. Jamie, please don't give up on our magnificent all natural beeswax ear plug. Yes, it's different from foam, but when you get the"hang of it"; you'll be most grateful you had the patience to keep trying. IT WORKS !!!!!!!!!! Most sincerely Mary-customer service
