Dear Caroline: Being soft and mouldable, we at times we receive a similar report because the ear plug is new and surely different from the typical foam ones. You said that ( you were " afraid ") and I could tell from your response that you didn't insert the ear plug firmly enough or flatten it against your ear opening to allow it to (SEAL). your ear. If you did ( it would surely ) have blocked out his snoring!!!! Plasticine is something in Australia. That's not us!! Our ear plug is made from BEESWAX and it holds together nicely. Caroline, please don't be afraid of it, "give it a go" and insert it as the instruction card that came with your order describes, and allow this magnificent ear plug to (prove itself) to you. Dear Robert: Thank you for writing us; and yes, you are mostly correct. There are around the world, more than (5 million) daily wearers of our ultra-high blocking ear plug who most definitely "like the" ear plugs. I don't understand what you mean by "coating in and around the ear", but I do understand when you report that too much noise is coming in. Robert, that's easy to fix!: Just follow the instructions below and you'll be pleasantly shocked at the amount of sound blocked out! 1. Just as you are about to insert, take ONE ear plug and {work it or knead it} thoroughly between your fingers or hands for at least 15 seconds to make it soft, moldable and to disburse the Pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. Pure Lanolin makes the ear plug slightly “tacky” so that it stays securely in the ear canal and seals it. When the ear plug is soft and moldable and ready to insert, it doesn’t matter what shape it is; round, flat , long or narrow; just follow the next step. 2. Using the tip of your index finger, push the ear plug FIRMLY, & FLATTEN it, (IN and AGAINST) your ear canal (until you feel a GOOD SEAL). IMPORTANT: If it doesn’t seal immediately, then hold your finger pressed against the ear plug (with slight pressure) for a few more seconds and it will seal well. 3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the same way & insert it into the other ear. With both ear plugs inserted correctly & sealing the ear canals; now listen; you’ll hear very little or most likely no sound at all. It even gets better each time you wear them. Dear Jill: Not only do they work well, but they'll work PERFECTLY to block out snoring; but only when they are inserted correctly and SEALING the ear canal. Jill, I wear them too for the same reason, so please read the following instructions (exactly); and you'll be grateful for my help: 1. Dear Hope: Hair is not the issue! All of us in the office have long hair and we have been wearing this same ear plug every night (successfully) for years. Hope, if you pushed and flattened the softened ear plug a bit more firmly IN and AGAINST your ear opening (until you felt the ear plug SEAL ), then it could not protrude outside your ear opening and your hair would not be an issue. Secondly, the ear plug may be too large for your ear opening so you might just pinch off at least (a third), and insert a smaller ear plug that fits your ear canal better, is more comfortable, seals easier and blocks out better." Regarding the 'smell' or fragrance , that is from Beeswax. Almost everyone finds it very pleasant. Hope, we use beeswax because or it's (compatibility with human skin) and because it is the best (natural ingredient) for sound suppression in existence. Dear Karen: If you can still hear , then it means the ear plug has not (sealed) your ear. If you want to have silence then you must insert the ear plug as I describe below and you'll be pleasantly shocked! Please follow the instructions (exactly) in the following paragraphs: 1. Dear KRR: If 9 out of 10 customers state emphatically that our ear plug is "superior" to any other ear plug in existence, then given that the hearing in all is almost the same, the one customer who is dissatisfied is most likely, not doing something correctly when inserting this ear plug or the customer has extremely acute hearing. I know from what you report, that you tried several times to insert them to where they would obviously be effective; yet you experienced them to be "no more effective" then others. KRR, please follow the instructions below for correctly inserting and I promise you, you'll be in for a very very shocking pleasant surprise. 1. Just prior to insertion (work) or (knead) ONE ear plug somewhat vigorously through your fingers for 15 seconds to make it (soft), (moldable) and to disburse the Pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. Lanolin makes the ear plug (slightly tacky) so that it stays securely in the ear canal and seals it. 2. Then using your index finger, push (Firmly) and (Flatten) the ear plug (IN) and (AGAINST) your ear canal (until you feel it SEAL). IMPORTANT : If it doesn't seal immediately, just keep your finger pressed against the ear plug with slight pressure for a few more seconds and it will warm and seal the ear canal completely. 3. Now take the other ear plug and do the same preparation and insertion for the other ear. KRR, we all wear the same exact ear plug so please feel free to phone our office for any help. Dear Heather: This fine ultra-high blocking ear plug will work wonderfully. We should know, for all of us in the office wear the same ear plug for the (same reason). We will be with you all the way until you get complete success with this fine ear plug. Important note: The ear plug has to be inserted correctly to (seal) the ear canal and really block out much. Please follow the instructions below (exactly) and you will have a very pleasant surprise: 1. Just prior to insertion (work) or (knead) ONE ear plug somewhat vigorously through your fingers for 15 seconds to make it (soft), (moldable) and to disburse the Pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. Lanolin makes the ear plug (slightly tacky) so that it stays securely in the ear canal and seals it. 2. Then using your index finger, push (Firmly) and (Flatten) the ear plug (IN) and (AGAINST) your ear canal (until you feel it seal). IMPORTANT : If it doesn't seal immediately, just keep your finger pressed against the ear plug with slight pressure for a few more seconds and it will warm and seal the ear canal completely.. 3. Now take the other ear plug and do the same preparation and insertion for the other ear. If you can barely hear the snoring, that is O,K, at first, so please be patient, for each night after the first night that you insert them, you will hear less and less, to the point where you will hear NOTHING. Dear Christine: Pulling the ear plug apart is not easy, for the ear plug is held together very well with strong cotton fibers and beeswax. All us gals in the office also have long finger nails, and we wear the same ear plug nightly. For us. it is easy now; for we figured out how to remove the ear plug using our finger nails. Christine, there is no need to push the ear plug deep into the ear canal. Just flatten it against your ear opening (until you feel the ear plug seal the ear). It will do the job.
