Dear Xiomara: Our ultra-high blocking ear plug is made from BEESWAX. Yes, when it SEALS the ear canal, it is the HIGHEST BLOCKING EAR PLUG in the world!!! The residue is a 'good residue'. It's Pure Lanoilin. It's very minimal and only slightly appears after the first time wearing. Xiomara, this magnificent ear plug is so good at what it does. It deserves a "fair try' again. Dear Les: Regarding the size!! Les, if you are an adult with average size ear canals, then our ear plug is the PERFECT SIZE for you; yet if your ear canals are smaller than average, then if is best to (pinch off) some and insert a smaller ear plug. Regarding your term "messy"??? We are not sure what you mean, but our ear plug with the Pure Lanolin in it, is (slightly tacky), so that it will stay securely in the ear canal and really BLOCK OUT! Regarding pain??? Our ear plug is so (soft and moldable). It surely cannot cause any pain. From your description, it appears that you may have some underlying condition going on in your ear canal; possibly from a recent cold or sinus issue. Les, our beeswax ear plug is "too good" to waste. If you are not going to use it, then please give it to someone who really needs to block out sound or seal out water. Thank you Most sincerely Mary-customer service

Dear Jill: Oh Yes! They surely block out sound! >>>>We wear them too!!!!! BUT>>> Jill, you didn't insert them (( far enough )) into your ear canal; and because of such, they (protruded) out too far from your ear opening and got involved with your hair and pillow. When you insert them in your ear canal (until they SEAL the ear canal), then your hair or pillow can't touch them!!! Jill, you've got the BEST EAR PLUG in the world, PLEASE continue to use it (correctly) now that you know how. Most sincerely Mary-customer service

Dear Sharon: IT'S AN EASY FIX!!! They'll block out (( ALL )) of your husbands snoring!!! You can easily BLOCK IT (( ALL )) OUT !!! Please follow the insertion instruction below & allow our ear plugs to (( SEAL )) your ear canals! You'll hear nothing but SILENCE !!! 1. The very first time that the ear plugs are prepared for insertion, you take ONE ear plug at a time and (knead it or work it) thoroughly through your fingers or hands for at least 15 seconds to make it soft, moldable and to disburse the pure Lanolin throughout the ear plug. 2. Now that it is moldable, use the tip of your index finger and (push and flatten) the ear plug somewhat (firmly), IN & AGAINST your ear canal, until you feel a good SEAL. If it doesn't SEAL immediately, just keep your finger pressed against the ear plug for a few more seconds, and it will SEAL the ear canal, not protrude out from the ear and block out superbly. 3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the (same way and insert it exactly the same way) as the first ear plug. Now, you'll hear SILENCE! All of us in our office where them for the same reason as you need them; and THEY WILL WORK WONDERFULLY!!! You'll see !!! Dear David: Oh Yes; we too surely know that the superior sound blocking gives you QUIET $ SILENCE, but David>>> the ear plug needs to be slightly "tacky" to stay SECURELY in the ear canal and BLOCK OUT. It always comes out in ONE piece !!! In fact it is difficult to break it off unless one pinches it so hard on purpose !!! so I'm not sure what you are doing with it. David don't pinch it so hard, just remove it more gently. I've been wearing them every night for the past 14 years. They always come out in one piece. Most sincerely Mary-customer service
