Just before insertion, take ( ONE ) ear plug at a time, and (work or knead) it between your fingers or hands for at least ( 15-20 ) seconds to make the ear plug, (soft and moldable); and to disburse the pure lanolin throughout the ear plug. 2. Then push and flatten the softened ear plug, (a bit firmly), IN and AGAINST the ear opening, UNTIL YOU FEEL the ear plug ( SEAL ) (SEAL) (SEAL) your ear canal. It needs to SEAL the ear to block out much. IMPORTANT: If the ear plug doesn't (( SEAL )) immediately, then just keep your finger pressed against it for a few more seconds and it will warm and SEAL PERFECTLY; and be sure to push them in far enough so that the (( whole ear plug )) is in your canal. 3. Dear Susan: Let's reverse this "disappointment" NOW! Susan, this magnificent ear plug blocks out MORE SOUND than any other ear plug in the world when inserted (( correctly )). Dear Nicola: ON THE CONTRARY!!! They are made from PURE (filtered) BEESWAX. Yes, most women pinch off about 1/3rd and insert a smaller ear plug. Nicola, if one inserts way too small (of anything) in the ear, it can be difficult to remove. Please be patient, insert 2/3rds of an ear plug; allow it to SEAL your ear canal and listen to only SILENCE !!! Kindest regards Mary-customer service

Dear Motorcyclist: Oh yes, "attenuation" is super. They are great sound blockers!!, and magnificent wind blockers too. That we know!!! BUT (( Just prior to insertion )): be sure to (knead or work) them through your fingers or hands for 20 seconds to disburse the pure Lanolin throughout the ear plugs. When you do that, you will eliminate the Lanolin residue, yet the important "tackiness" will still be maintained; as it is necessary to keep the ear plug securely in your ear canal and BLOC OUT superbly. Regarding cleanliness: This wonderful ear plug comes completely protected with a natural protectant that makes it anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti microbial. Cleaning is not necessary.
