Dear Henry: ON THE CONTRARY !!! Our "Mighty Plugs" ear plugs are MUCH MUCH better than "foam" ear plugs, BUT,>>>>>>> our soft and mouldable Beeswax ear plugs have to be inserted to where they(( SEAL )) your ear canals and inserted far enough in so that they don't PROTRUDE our from the ear opening !!!!!!!!!! Henry, please, follow the below instructions (exactly), and you will be VERY happily surprised with the great amount of sound reduction !!!!!!!! 1. Just before insertion, take (( ONE )) ear plug at a time, and (work or knead) it between your fingers or hands for at least ( 15-20 ) seconds to make our Beeswax ear plug, (soft and mouldable). 2. Then push and flatten it, (a bit firmly), IN and AGAINST your ear opening, UNTIL YOU FEEL the ear plug (( SEAL )) yes (( SEAL )) your ear canal. IMPORTANT: If the ear plug doesn't SEAL immediately, then just keep your finger pressed against it for a few more seconds and it will warm and SEAL PERFECTLY; and push them just a bit firmer so that the (( whole ear plug )) is in your canal. 3. Now take the other ear plug, and prepare it and insert it (exactly) the same way as the first ear plug. Henry, with both ears SEALED, now LISTEN TO THE SILENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dear Robert: Yes, if your head got to 180 degrees, the Beeswax would take on the consistency of soft dough. But , from your description, it sounds as if you were in so much of a rush to remove them, that you hastily pinched off some of the ear plugs. Robert, your not "hot headed" enough to melt our ear plugs, but please slow down when removing them. Over 6 million people around the world wear our ear plug each day without "pinching off" some while removing. YOU CAN TOO !!!!!!!! Dear Earplugs user: We know (exactly) why the ear plugs were not as effective (( for you )). Your comment about having long hair and having the ear plug mix with it, was the clue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You didn't insert our ear plug into your ear canal (deep enough) and it (protruded) out too far and mixed with your hair. Dear Osix25: Earplugs must SEAL the ear canal to "DO THE JOB" It is SOOOO important in blocking out sound and SEALING out wind for motorcycle riders. It's the SEALING that makes the Mighty Plugs the most "effective blocking" ear plug in the world. Osix25, when inserting out Mighty Plugs, be sure to keep your finger pressed against the ear plug for several seconds to allow the ear plug to "warm" and SEAL well. Aside from saying that "There is no comparison between Heros and Mighty Plugs"; (we stop there)! We don't practice in "bad mouthing" any competitor's product. Please follow the instructions below and you'll achieve better and longer SEALING with Mighty Plugs. 1. Just before insertion, take (( ONE )) ear plug at a time and (work or knead) it between your fingers or hands for at LEAST 15-20 seconds to make this Beeswax ear plug, (soft and moldable). 2. Just before insertion, take (( ONE )) ear plug at a time and (work or knead) it between your fingers or hands for at LEAST 15 seconds to make this Beeswax ear plug, (soft and mouldable). 2. Then push and flatten it, (a bit firmly), IN and AGAINST your ear opening, UNTIL YOU FEEL the ear plug (( SEAL )) (( SEAL )) yes (( SEAL )) your ear canal. If it doesn't SEAL immediately, then just keep your finger pressed against the ear plug for a few more seconds and it will SEAL PERFECTLY. 3. Most sincerely Mary - BPI Customer Service To ad further to your experience: Andrew, if you've inserted the ear plugs to where they are SEALING your ear canals; and your still hearing too much sound, then try this: Pinch off about 1/2 of another ear plug in your pack and add or combine that ear plug material to ONE ear plug. In other words, insert 1 &1/2 ear plugs in each ear. Our military did that with our ear plugs when firing high calliber firearms, and they reported fabulous success with the blockage of sound. Andrew: i too wear this magnificent ear plug every night to block out my husband snores (like a freight train). They do the job for me perfectly.
