LOW QUALITY EMPLOYEES
I go - or used to go here - a few times per week to get an egg sandwich for breakfast, because it's relatively healthy and affordable meal for breakfast. I have noticed now 5 or 6 times that when I roll the window down to make my order, I smell cigarette smoke. It's because a Dunkin employee sits outside and smokes in that area. I have often wondered why they smoke there, rather than somewhere else where customers aren't subjected to their bad habit. So, this morning, for the first time, I decided to tell the person who took my order this morning "For what it's worth, it seems to me customers should not have to smell cigarette smoke from employees when they go through the line" . .. that's all I said . . . the young lady, face full of metal piercings, said "Ok", and took my payment. Not rude . . . but not apologetic or otherwise engaging either. My food came quickly, delivered by the smoker who had just been sitting outside smoking . . . This overweight smoker handed me the food very abruptly and said in an angry and rude tone "Have the day you DESERVE, sir"! . . . and slammed the window shut. I was shocked. I had just spent money in their establishment, spoken respectfully, and even tried to help them with what I thought of as a customer service issue they could easily fix by having people smoke in a different area. (or not hiring smokers??) I kind of expected a "thank you, we'll take that into consideration". I went in and asked for the manager. The person who handed me the order said she WAS the shift manager, and refused to give me the managers' name, and threatened (oddly) to call the cops on me. She accused me of being "mean" to her employee . . . I assured her I was not, and had never in any case been rude to anyone at that store. I also asked her whether the interaction had been recorded, and she said it was, and so I invited her to watch it and see if I was "mean" to her employee. I even told her there was a police car in line ( I saw one on my way in to ask for a manager) and she went out to get them, when she didn't see a police car, she said "there's no policecar, a**hole" as I was getting in my truck to leave . . . I am trying to find out who the owner of this store is to discuss this with them. I hope they will fire STACY, which is the name this employee gave me. She is definitely a stain on the Dunkin Name.
