Good color matching, horrible install and Ok quality
I purchased a Venturous Ozark cap and while the color-matching is spot on to my Silverado, the overall quality is less-than-ideal. The install took approx 1 hour and they were just going to have me leave without doing a walk-through. Luckily I asked them to, as when he showed me how to "check the clamps in a week" he found that 2 out of the 6 were barely clamped on and 2 more were pretty loose. Since I had an hour of highway driving, that cap would have shifted around badly. Three days later I went on a week's camping trip and drove a few times in the North Maine Woods, which is all dusty dirt logging roads. The amount of dust that came into the bed made me glad I had most of the gear in covered bins. I'm not expecting water or dust proof, but you could even see where dust came up under the rear lift-window and above the tailgate. That's also when I noticed that one side of the lift-window looks like someone took a saw to it (to make it fit better?) and left edges sharp enough to cut my hands. I got the gear net, intending to put dirty or wet clothes in there, but the screws they used to secure it to the fiberglass/poly shell are incredibly small (instead of using longer through-bolts for the Thule/Yakima rails and attach the gear net to those bolts like Leer does) means that I'm afraid of ripping out those screws. A small detail, but the t-handles for that rear lift-window are both left-sides, so the key to unlock/lock is turned clockwise for 1 side and counter-clockwise for the other... rather than having a left and ride side t-handle where the key is orientated and turned the same way for both sides. I contacted Venturous on Sept 3rd and still don't have a resolution from their Warranty Dept and am now considering that I wasted $3789.
