I am writing as a parent of three teens who recently took their in person class hours and 6+ driver's education behind the wheel classes with Drive Safe. Two have recently passed their drivers tests and gotten their drivers licenses. We have one yet to go. While I will say that the in person class hours sounded a bit dry I'm not sure that anyone could make it feel much more exciting. However, I felt the kids learned what they needed and Drive Safe was very flexible when we asked to change one of our three kiddos to online classes when they were feeling anxious in person. They all passed the written test. I also feel the kids learned terrific skills and confidence taking behind the wheel lessons with Drive Safe teachers. I would highly recommend their program that includes the in class room time, the 6 hours of behind the wheel and the driving test.

I learned a lot during the experience. I think my only comment on how to build up drivers is to create a comforting learning environment from the very start. There were certainly driving instructors that did that well, and some who did not. Not every kid is the same, but learning to drive is a nerve-wracking experience. Being familiar and safe with your instructor makes everything go smoothly. I think some more communication, and possibly a couple of minutes to set the grounds for the experience could help. It’s hard to feel like you don’t know anything, and that you’re being critiqued on every decision you make.

classes were good, schedules were a bit challening. would like the ability to reschedule classes - particularly drives on line vs just cancelling

The experience with DriveSafe was overall very good. I felt like my new driver was prepared with what was learned in class and during the one-on-one drives. I felt like the instructors were very informative and helpful. The online system to register for classes and drives was very easy to use, however It was very difficult to schedule drives and the drive test. I would have loved some guidance/suggestion to schedule those way ahead of time as it took us some time to find available times. Overall I would and have referred many family and friends and would use Drivesafe again for another student in the future.

Overall our experience was fantastic. One instructor during one of the 2 hour drive sessions treated our son like he had never driven before and spent half the session in the parking lot working on hand positioning. Other than that, great.

It was a good experience but I could have done without the parent portion.
