Poor communication. Not a straightforward process. We got confirmation from the site that documents were uploaded. It was taking a long time to verify documents so after reaching out multiple times through calling and then emailing I finally get a response that they don't have those documents we uploaded. We reupload them and I email them for safe measure. Wait some more. Nothing back so I reach out a few more times to get told that there is an issue with the title the bank provided us. Frustrating that there is no notification process if something is wrong. You're stuck there waiting and reaching out multiple times to try and resolve the issue.

Used them when I bought a vehicle on Bring A Trailer to handle final purchase details and checkout. Horrible!!!!! I had to do more work to get possession of the vehicle than I have ever had to do before with any other vehicle purchase. They did not interact with my lender and then they made a mistake on the title transfer re vehicle recorded mileage and to add insult to injury Caramel sent the title to the wrong county here in OHIO not to the county where I live!!!!

Worst escrow you could have. eBay chose them to handle the sale of motor vehicles but just like people say- no communication, no support of any kind. You are just left there to figure out on your own. Anything out of standard (like buyer not paying) - go figure. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.

Thought this would be safe way to purchase a car from a private seller. Started checkout process which for me took about 2 minutes. Seller’s verification is claimed to be “less than one business day” - but dashboard showed no progress. Caramel site says “chat us” but there is NO chat line - just automated FAQ system. NO phone number to call, no emails from either Caramel or the seller - no transparency about what was taking so long. I could initially see email of seller, but once I started the process it was no longer available. After four days of waiting to continue process, I started to wonder if there was an issue with the vehicle or whether the whole thing was a scam. I finally found the “cancel” button - which is not visible if you log into website and was only partially visible in the phone app. I canceled. All information and communication was one way into the black hole….

I contacted the company for help with purchase of a car. The only way to contact them is through email. I emailed both the seller and drivecaramel.com. NO ONE answered my questions. I sent 4 different emails over 3 days and all went un answered. Waste of time!!!!
